“Says me,” I say. “I’m anHeir. You’re not. I’m going to handle this situation.”
“My brother is anHeir,” Quinn says. “And I would be one if he wasn’t. Being aSavageisn’t just about being ruthless. I have the mindset of anHeir.”
“So does Archer,” I say. “He’s aSavagetoo.”
“Will you all just stop talking for a second?” Seth asks. “I just wanted to get everyone’s attention here. Make my presence known today.”
“We are well aware of your presence,” Cullen says.
“You should be dead right now,” Archer says.
“Funny you say that word,” Seth says. “I think it’s time we have a meeting. A proper meeting.”
“Seth, move the knife,” I say. “You don’t want to do this. He’s a Doyle. Do you know what that means?”
Seth laughs. “Jaci, come on. Who do you think I am? Who do you think my family is? I know them all. I’ve dealt with them all. This is just a message. To let it be known that just because you’re on this expensive campus… it doesn’t mean shit.”
In one easy move Seth lowers the knife and pushes Quinn away.
Quinn plants his feet and turns, his right fist already moving through the air.
Cullen grabs his brother’s arm. “Not right now, Quinn.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Quinn growls.
“There’s a time and a place for this,” Cullen says.
“He’s right,” Seth says. “You’ll get your chance at me, Quinn. I’m sorry. I just needed everyone’s attention. You were the easiest target. Besides Jaci. But I know if I touch Jaci again, we’re going to end up naked in the back seat of my car. Just like old times, right?”
Seth winks at me.
I curl my lip.
I feel Cullen seething with jealousy.
I feel Archer holding back more rage than I ever want to know about.
“We’re all here, Seth,” I say. “So what do you want?”
Seth gives his classicsexy bad boysmile.“I want to be a Savage.”

“Did you hear me?” Seth asks. “I want to be aSavage.”
“You can’t,” Quinn says. “You’re not part of a family.”
“Oh, I have a family,” Seth says. “I have a crazy family.”
“You know that’s not what he meant,” Cullen says.
“What does being aSavageget you?” Archer asks. “You just want some title to your name? That’s pretty sad.”
“I know exactly what I want,” Seth says.
He looks at me.
I hate myself for feeling anything but hatred for him.
