“I don’t want the attention,” I say.

“You need this, Jaci,” Cullen says.

“I need this?” I ask. “I need this why?”

“So everyone knows how powerful you are,” Archer says. “Everyone assumes you’re kidnapped and dead. There’s power to this.”

“Because of my family,” I say. “But how does Seth fit into this? You’re letting him walk around here like he owns you both.”

“He doesn’t own a thing,” Cullen says. “Other than some of your heart.”

Is that what this is all about?

About my pleasure?

Cullen and Archer know that Seth was my first.

And, yeah, maybe there’s a part of me that misses him.

A part of me that can look beyond the whole kidnapping thing only because nothing bad happened to me.

Plus, like Archer said, everyone is expecting me at this party.

They want to see me risen or whatever.

And as much as I don’t want to admit it, I really like life atDSC.

I like the power. I like the respect.

And somehow I’m going to find a way to figure out who my family is and make it so Archer doesn’t actually kill me.

The only issue there is that things keep getting more and more complicated.

With Seth here, things are bonkers.

With me wanting all three guys…

I just can’t help myself.

“So how do I enter this party?” I ask Maz.

“How the fuck do I know?” Maz asks. “I’m aThorn.”

“Stand behind us,” Birdie says. “Kind of hide. Then we will just move out of the way.”

“Hey, Jaci is here!”

I turn and see Laz walking toward me.

“Really?” I call out.

“Keeping this easy for you, Jaci,” Laz says. “Now the pressure is off.”

Laz rushes by me and towardSentral.

Birdie sighs. “I have some pressure he can help take off on me.”

“Relax,” I say to Birdie.
