“Then why can’t we leave here?” Birdie asks.

“Because they have to take everything serious,” Maz says.

“So who would do this?” I ask. “I don’t get it. Is this for fun? Just to be an asshole? I remember people used to call in bomb threats at my old school. Just to get us out of the building.”

“I don’t know why someone did this,” Maz says. “I just know there’s not a bomb out there.”

I walk to the dorm room door.

“Jaci, don’t!” Birdie yells.

I open the door and gasp when I see a small machine just outside the door.

It’s a little robot looking thing.

I look down the hallway and there’s a man in some kind of hazmat looking gear.

“Get inside!” the man yells to me.

“Got any coffee?” I call back.

“Jaci, get in here,” Birdie says. “This isn’t a joke.”

I shut the dorm room door and sigh.

“They’re definitely taking this seriously right now,” I said.

“Like I said, they have to,” Maz says. “Now our job is to turn this into something fun.”

“A bomb threat is fun to you?” Birdie asked. “I feel like I’m stuck here. I’m scared. What if…”

“I can’t hear this,” I say. “I can’t have you making me panic.”

I walk back to the bedroom and crawl back into bed.

All I can think about is Cullen and Archer.

I assume Cullen is atMakson Ridgeand Archer is atSentral.

As far as Seth goes…

He’s probably not allowed back on campus at the moment.

Which is a good thing. Maybe.

Or maybe this was done on purpose for that reason.

Now my head starts to spin with conspiracies.

And I’m hungover.

I need to just laugh this all off and go back to sleep.

Except this is the mafia surrounding me.

I have no idea what anyone is capable of.

What these families are capable of.
