“I can’t believethat you did all of this. It’s too much,” I say as I turn to smile at my husband.

Knox grins at me, wrapping his arms around my waist and tugging me against him.

“It’s never enough. Not for you. I wanted to make our anniversary memorable.”

We’ve been married for five years now. Knox didn’t waste any time in putting a ring on my finger and a baby in my belly. Part of me loves that he had to tie me to him in every way. Knox assures me that it wasn’t fast for him. He had been planning our life together for months before he brought me to Bora Bora.

Our wedding was a small affair on the beach in California, with only Elodie and Hayes in attendance. My parents were upset that they weren’t invited and even more upset that they didn’t get to plan some big elaborate affair. Neither of us wanted the high society crowd to attend though.

I haven’t spoken to my parents much since. They don’t interact with their grandkids much. They send gifts and the occasional card. I’m not surprised. They were never really hands-on parents and it would have been strange if they acted differently toward their grandkids.

“We should call Elodie and Hayes and check on the kids,” I say as Knox starts to kiss my neck.

“I already did,” he says, pulling out his phone and showing me the string of text messages.

There’s a picture of Malcolm and Mallory both grinning alongside their Aunt Elodie and Uncle Hayes.

We all still live in California. Elodie and Hayes both graduated and Hayes has opened his own garage along with his friends. Knox bought them the house right down the street from us because he knew how much I wanted to be close to my sister. The kids love having them close too.

Knox’s company has only grown over the last five years. We now have hotels all over the world and we’re adding more every year.

I still work for Knox, though I don’t go into the office as much as I used to. These days, I spend most of my time at home with the twins. They’re about to start preschool soon and I’m looking forward to spending more time with my husband.

We’re on our anniversary trip now. Knox took me back to Bora Bora, back to the hotel that we stayed at the first time we were here. Knox bought it the week after we got back to the States. He said that he wanted to own the place that we first fell in love so that we could go back anytime that we wanted.

This is the first time that we’ve been back since. The pregnancy with the twins was a bit rough and I was on bed rest for the last couple of months. Then once Malcolm and Mallory were born, we didn’t want to travel that far with them.

I was missing this place though, so Knox surprised me by clearing the whole resort out for the weekend. Now it’s just the two of us here in paradise.

What more could a girl ask for?

“What did you want to do first?” Knox whispers in my ear, and I shiver as I grin.

“Let’s see if the bed is as comfortable as I remember, shall we?”

Knox just grins down at me as he leads me over and pushes me backward.
