“So, what is going on? Every time you pull the line out, I know that it's going to be bad. How bad is it this time? Has Chelsea burned my car up or painted it black?”

“No, although I can't say that she won't.”

“Yeah, I will say that I underestimated Chelsea big time. She was a bit more viscous than I thought she was. I think that she truly does love you.”

He snorted and then scoffed loudly. I thought he was going to start laughing for a moment, and it was the bitterness that drew me into paying attention. What was it that he was going to tell me this time that I needed a drink for? How much worse could it get?

“So, what is it that you want to tell me? You know I don’t like this build up.”

I kept trying to get it out of him, but he was holding back again. Every time there was some bad news, Dennis wanted to somehow keep it away from me and protect me. I didn't really care for that, especially when I had no idea what it even pertained to. The fact that he had brought alcohol into the mix told me that it was going to be some kind of bad news I may not be prepared for.

“I found out who did this to me.”

“Well, that's great. Isn't it?”

“Not really. Not when it is somebody that you know.”

“Who?”

He was stalling. Dennis didn't want to tell me, and I just blurted out the first name that came to mind. I wouldn’t have thought that I was right. It was said more as a joke, so that he would give me the real answer.

“It was Chelsea, wasn't it?”

He looked at me like I had read his mind with some kind of magic.

“How did you know?”

I blew out a breath and sighed. “I didn't, but, wow. I guess I had really underestimated her. Are you sure about it? I mean, are you really sure that it’s Chelsea?”

“Yeah, I went to the detective today, and he seemed pretty sure that he had the right people in mind and Chelsea was the main one.”

“What do you think? Do you think that she actually did it?”

He shrugged. “I don't know. I don't want to believe that she did, but it seems like it. The detective had quite a bit of proof. He tapped some phones. It’s all ridiculous.”

“Sounds like it. So, what are they going to do? Have they arrested her yet? And who else was with her, because obviously she didn't do it herself.”

I told her what the rest of the detective had said, that he was pretty sure it was Tommy and another person that I was on the football team with.

“Why would they do that? I mean, I can see why she would do it because she is in love with you, whether you believe it or not. Women are crazy sometimes when it comes to love. But why would the guys help her? I thought you guys were friends.”

“I’ve been asking myself that same question since I found out, and I’ve come up with no answer, just a couple of theories.”

“Okay, so what’s the theories?”

“I know that Tommy is attracted to her. He has asked me to share her a couple of times with him. More than that. They all do it, and they all want Chelsea. She is pretty much off limits to everyone, which makes guys want her more. It could just be that simple.”

I scrunched my nose up, and even though I was trying not to be a judge, it was really hard not to, when I heard things like that.

“You mean that they all want to have sex with her, altogether?”

He agreed and I just kind of shivered. How gross.

“Is it just me, or is college a bit more extreme than you thought?”
