Page 93 of Craving Their Mate

"We can't know for sure that Delancey is inside, but someone is in that top bedroom. Thank heavens the person is alive," Jay stated.

All seven of the men were a few hundred feet from the house that was situated on several acres. The lush trees prevented them from seeing as much as they’d like. However, it also prevented the occupants from seeing any Pack members.

If they all charged in, they might take down a few of guards, but that wouldn’t necessarily keep Paris safe. That meant they needed to split up.

“Would you like us to fly over a regular camera?” Trax asked Rider. “It’s dark, so I can’t say we’ll see all that much.”

Rider shook his head. “We might have already attracted too much attention with the first flyover.”

“What’s your plan?” Grayson asked.

So many thoughts raced through his head. “I want to free Paris first, but I’m not sure of the best and safest way to do it—assuming she’s inside.”

“It’s Statler’s house. I don’t imagine it would be anyone else,” Jay said.

“Let’s go with that,” Rider said. “The drone detected three men inside and someone in the upstairs bedroom. The question is how do we reach the upstairs without anyone noticing?”

Everyone seemed to think about that, but no one came up with a solution.

“Are we certain Paris can’t move about?” Grayson asked.

“It was too hard to tell from the thermal image,” Trax said.

“How about we toss a pebble at her window and see if anyone responds?” Rider suggested.

“The lights are off, but the person is definitely not asleep. There’s no harm in trying,” Grayson said.

Rider had played baseball in high school and was confident he could hit the window. “Let’s say one of the men inside hears the stone and comes out to investigate. We need to be prepared.”

Grayson looked over at Jay, Nate, and Harmon. “Not that I’m suggesting we stay in our human from, but do any of you have guns?”

“Nate and I do, but if these shifters are with Delancey, they could be enhanced.”

Shit. He should have thought to bring some of the bullets that Charley’s dad claimed could take down one of the enhanced werewolves. “A gunshot will slow anyone down for a bit though,” Rider said.

“How about if Harmon and I station ourselves on the far side of the house with our guns? If anyone escapes, we’ll take him down—or rather slow them down enough for us to shift and then stop them. Jay could be in his wolf form watching the backyard, and you, Grayson, and Dante could take on the three inside,” Nate suggested.

“That sounds good, but what if Delancey grabs Paris?”

“Go after him,” Nate said.

“You forgot me,” Trax said.

“Take the near side. That way no one can escape in any direction,” Rider said.

Trax nodded.

That seemed to be a solid plan. “I’ll toss a pebble on the window first. If by some miracle Paris is able to get to the window, I can have her crawl out and jump. I’ll catch her.”

“If she is tied down,” Grayson said, “we’ll have to break down the front door and charge in. Once inside, we shift and do what we can to take out the guards.”

“They will shoot at us, I suspect,” Rider said.

“Then we’ll bleed. We’ll charge before they have a chance to get off a second round,” Grayson said.

Rider looked at Dante. “Your thoughts? You’d be going in with us.”

“Count me in. Colters are my hotspot. After what one of them did to my mate, my life’s goal is the same as the general’s: eradicate all of them.”
