“I’ll go get your bike and meet you upstairs.”

Nodding, I turned to walk away, releasing a squeal mixed with a moan at the feel of him smacking my ass. Oh yeah. I coulddefinitelyget used to this.

Before my meeting, there were a few things I wanted to cover with Cartier. I planned to take things slow with her, but I also knew there was a chance her submission would take me over the edge. If that was the case, I wanted us to be prepared.

We talked about our sexual history and birth control, then we discussed our terms, safe words, and limits. I showed her my playroom, but there was no rush on utilizing that. I knew she wanted what she thought was a Dom/sub relationship, but Cartier really just needed a man she could trust. One she could flow in her feminine energy with. One who led her and released her from unnecessary stress and worry so she could experience more happiness and freedom.

I could do all of that without sex, but we were going to have a lot of it.

That, I was sure of.

To me, a woman was most beautiful when she was confident, cheerful, and in her biggest energy. Whether that was her masculine energy or feminine, loud or quiet, sexy or modest… whatever she was most comfortable in. I wasn’t sure how long Cartier and I had together, but I was going to do everything I could to make sure she understood that.

“Remember, you’re in control of everything that happens between us,” I told Cartier as I put on my watch. “I won’t do anything beyond what you allow.”

With a nod, Cartier made her way over to me. She took my tie from the dresser and put it on for me. That was a first, and I finally understood why so many men liked having their woman put on their ties. Aside from the intimacy of her being so close and looking into my eyes, I appreciated the gesture. The service.

“There’s power in your flow. In your rest. True power that isn’t forced. That’s the kind of control you want to operate in, and that’s the kind of control I will make sure you have.”

Those words must have unlocked something within her because Cartier released that soft sigh I’d been yearning for as she cupped my neck and brought my lips down to hers. The only thing that made me pull away was my phone ringing.

“That’s Rameek,” I said without having to look at it.

“Go handle your business, baby. Praying you can get this resolved today and not have to deal with her again.”

“From your lips to God’s ears. Text me when you go on break, and I’ll come down to the lounge to let you know how it went.”

“Okay.”

I gave her another quick kiss, dick throbbing when she hugged me and rubbed her nose against my neck as she inhaled my scent. Phone ringing and all, my eyes remained trained on her until she was completely out of my room. I picked up the phone and dialed Rameek’s number.

“Mayhem,” he answered.

“You here?”

“Yeah.”

“Tell them to lead you to the meeting room. I’m on my way down.”

“Aight, cool.”

Times like this, I was glad Rameek continued to practice law even though he no longer served as District Attorney. His private investigation firm was up and running, but because he had a full team of employees already, he only worked on cases for the Black Mayhem Mafia, giving him time to handle legal affairs here and there.

For the last two days, Caroline called herself rallying against me by picketing and trying to get my guests to boycott the Tower. She first started the morning after I got Cartier the bike. Haley came and threatened to beat her ass, so she left. This morning she was back, and I was glad Rameek was able to come and speak to her on my behalf. As I left my suite, I called down to Aaliyah to confirm that security had taken Caroline and her lawyer to the meeting room. The only reason I’d even called Rameek was because she mentioned my parents.

Though they respected the fact that I was an adult who would make my own decisions, I didn’t want who I was and what I did to become a topic of conversation within their circles. Politically or religiously, their enemies could try to use me to taint their image, and that was something I refused to let happen.

As I made my way down, I reminded myself not to speak to Caroline. If I addressed anything, she’d take that as a way to get a rise out of me. So, as difficult as it was going to be, I was going to let Rameek take care of everything.

When I made it inside, everyone was already seated. I spoke to Rameek and told him he could get started as quickly as he wanted to, because I didn’t want to waste his time.

“I will be speaking on behalf of Mr. Thompson today, so please direct all questions or comments to me,” he stated, looking directly at Caroline.

She laughed and shook her head, causing her attorney to whisper something to her that made her roll her eyes.
