“April Fleming actually ordered some fucking Chanel keychains to keep in stock at the general store for my mother.” Ford shakes his head with a sigh when I laugh.

His parents have chilled a little bit on always complaining when they come here to visit, and I honestly think his mom makes excuses just to come now. All three times they’ve been here in the last year, Ford has had to leave after dark to rescue his mom, my mom, and my aunt from some ridiculous mission they’re on. Ford’s mom actually got to spend her first hour in jail when they were here five months ago and told Kenny if he didn’t give her her own chair, she was calling the president of Netflix. I don’t know how that was supposed to help her, but Charlotte Prescott’s chair has now replaced mine in that tiny room.

“Come on, big guy. As soon as all the trick-or-treaters are gone, we can sneak over to Diederich’s farm and screw in the corn maze.” I wag my eyebrows at him. “I still have three more places left on the list I made of all the locations I fantasized about doing you in.”

Ford just shakes his head at me with my favorite smirk on his face, letting go of my hand to wrap his arm around my shoulders. “Happy Halloween, baby. I love you.”

“You’re lucky we’re on our way home. That sentence just totally made me wet.”

He trips over his own two feet with a curse before pushing open the door to the bar so we can walk through it together. So I can pass out candy with my fiancé and our friends on the porch of my dream home.

Where we’ll live happily ever after for many more Halloweens to come… wearing matching costumes, rescuing crazy women from wild turkeys, and living a good and absolutelynotnormal life.

The End
