Me? I have a VIP pass. All-Access. A perk of dating the boss.

“Yum,” Jen says, taking a long gulp of one of the cocktails.

Skye laughs, taking a more prim sip of her drink. “I’m going to be carrying you back to Brooklyn at this rate,” she warns.

“I’m being supportive,” Jen protests, laughing. “New business launches are a perilous time.”

“Right.” Skye smirks, looking around at the packed bar, and the buzz of excitement in the air. “Charlie and the guys clearly need all the help they can get.”

“It is going well, isn’t it?” I ask proudly. “Charlie’s been acting like the opening is no big deal, but I can tell, he’s nervous about what the reaction will be.”

“By the looks of it, a roaring success.” Jen declares, and we all toast, as Olivia and Ryan make their way over.

“Isn’t this great?” Olivia says enthusiastically. “A girl nearly cut me outside when I skipped the line.”

“And that’s a good thing?” I ask dubiously.

She grins. “I mean, it shows there are already passionate fans!”

We laugh.

“I’ll go fight my way to the bar,” Ryan offers loyally, eying the scrum.

“No need.” The man of the hour, Charlie, arrives with Dash in tow, and another round of drinks. “How’s it going?”

“Rave reviews,” I inform him with a kiss. “All around.”

“With no bias whatsoever,” Dash jokes.

“None,” Jen says with a laugh.

“A couple of people even dropped your name, trying to get in,” Charlie tells me.

My eyebrows shoot up. “Me?”

“Something about being clients of yours.”

I grin. “Imagine, being a name worth dropping! I did tell everyone about the opening,” I add.

“How’s work going, Grace?” Olivia asks expectantly.

“Booming,” Charlie supplies, proudly.

“It’s going well. Even the Bassingers came crawling back,” I say, with relish. “Bret’s gone to Europe, and they’re apparently lost without me.”

“I hope you told them get lost.” Olivia says, pursing her lips.

I smirk. “Nope. I took them back… For triple my previous rate.”

They all laugh and applaud, as Dash’s phone buzzes. He checks the screen and makes a face.

“Last night’s date?” I ask, joking.

“I wish. Be right back.” He disappears into the back of the bar.

“How mysterious,” I grin, and we return to tasting all the cocktails.

Charlie leans in, and murmurs in my ear. “Fancy the full behind-the-scenes tour?”
