“He’s right,” Grace agrees. “People always want what they can’t have!”

I catch my breath, still stunned things have taken off so fast. I mean, I had two years of moving in slow-motion, fighting for every break, but now, it’s like my career hit warp speed.

“You did it, babe.” Dash says, kissing my forehead. “I’m so proud of you.”

I hug him, feeling a fierce glow. “I couldn’t have done it without you.” And not just his investment, either, but his confidence and support.

“Eh, you definitely could have,” Dash says. “But I’ll take it.”

“See?” I grin, feeling on top of the world. “I told you when we met, it wasn’t only makeup.”

He groans, laughing. “I’m never going to live that down, am I?”

“You’re not the one who nearly hurled herself off the platform to save a sample box,” I smile back.

“Well, it worked out pretty well, don’t you think?” he asks.

“We’ll see about that,” I smirk, before dropping my voice to mimic his tone. “Later.”

After finishing up at the center, the others head back to the bar for some well deserved drinks, but Dash and I head to my place instead. I say I need to change out of my paint-splattered clothes, but I’m sure that nobody buys the excuse for a minute.

The truth is, I can’t wait to be alone with Dash.

And he can’t wait either. The moment we step through the door, his mouth is on mine, and I’m pulling him closer, hands all over his body as we stumble our way to the bedroom, discarding clothes at every turn.

“Zelda wants us in Palm Beach next week,” he tells me, mouth blazing a trail over my bare chest.

“You’re really going to bring up your grandmother at a time like this?” I laugh—which turns to a moan when his lips close around one taut nipple.

“I don’t know, I think she’d approve.” Dash jokes.

“Of this?” I laugh, as I yank his pants down.

“Of us. You know she loves you. Almost as much as I do,” he adds, tumbling me back on the bed.

I sigh with satisfaction—at hearing him say it again, and the fact he’s almost naked. “Another gala?” I ask, as he pins my wrists, rocking against me.

“Uh huh,” Dash eases his fingers between my thighs.

I moan. “Just as long as we can make a detour to the boathouse,” I say breathlessly, bucking against his hand. “I have fond memories of that place.”

“So do I.” Dash groans as he moves down my body, peeling my panties away, and teasing me, breath hot against my core. I whimper, arching up to meet his mouth, clutching the sheets when he finally licks up against me in a slow, heady swoop.

“Fuck, Dash…” I cry out, as he grips my thighs, lapping against me. He’s driving me wild, and it’s not long before I’m pulling him back up so his body is covering mine, closing my fist around him, and savoring the groans that fall from his lips. “I need you, inside me,” I gasp, and he tips me back, positioning himself between my legs.

“Always,” he growls, thrusting into me.

And I swear, I’ll never get used to how good this feels.

The stretch of him inside me, the way he moves with me, finding the perfect pace. I moan his name out loud, clutching him closer as his cock drives into me, harder, deeper, so right that the pleasure snakes through my whole body, coiling tighter, taking me to the brink—

I shatter, crying out as the orgasm slams through me. “Dash!”

“I’m here, baby,” Dash groans, fucking me through it. “I’m right here.” He thrusts again, deeper, god, and then I feel his body shudder, hurtling off the edge with me, holding me tightly as we both crash back down to earth again.

I lay there, gasping beside him.
