“Oh,” I said. “Yeah, we are. Sorry, Elinor told me about you, but I had no idea what you looked like."

“That’s okay. You were puzzled by my scent, weren't you?” He smiled, and sure enough, with his blue eye twinkling, he looked just like his father, Will.

I laughed. “I was, honestly. I can’t say I’ve ever met a werewolf/vampire hybrid.”

"I lead with the vampire part usually. The mixed expressions of fear and confusion I get in response never gets old."

"I can imagine," I laughed, looking at him closer. Like Rehema, he was wearing a gold bracelet. But unlike my friend, both of his arms were decorated with tattoos.

“So,” he asked. “How are you feeling? I saw what happened at the ball.”

“Hmm, I’m doing okay.”

“Don’t worry, I’m not about to blast you with questions about Rumir and Lucian. That's your business."

“Thanks. I’m trying to get home before someone who’s not so considerate catches me.”

He looked around, but there was no one in sight. “No problem. I’m heading home as well.” He tapped his bracelet and held his hand out to me. “Coming?”

“To your place?”

“No, to my vacation mansion in Hawaii,” he chuckled. "Yes, my house. Honestly, you look like you could use a drink. I know a good club we can go to, but I need to head home first. Of course, that’s only if you're interested in joining me. But I can’t think of a better way to relax. And a little fun might be just what you need."

“A club?” I perked up at that. "Really? Well, I guess this place has everything else. Why should I be surprised there are clubs in the afterlife?"

I took his hand, and he shrugged. “If those outside this realm knew how great it was here, they'd off themselves just to get in."

“Sure,” I grumbled. “It’s all fun and games until you disturb a gorgalian on the hunt.”
