“If it comes to that, we’ll handle it. Heck, maybe another Enchanted will beat you to it.”

“Yeah, maybe.” I doubted Rehema and Brian would say anything if I told them, but I agreed to follow Lucian’s lead. After last night, I figured it might not be a bad idea to listen to what he had to say.

I should probably talk to Rumir, as well though I wasn’t speaking to him right now and had ignored his calls all morning. He might be a god, but he’d acted like an ass. And I wasn’t about to forgive him that easily.

“How are you feeling?” Lucian asked, reaching out to push my hair behind my ear. “Did you sleep?

“For an hour, sure,” I answered. “Did you? Do you have to go to the temple today?”

“I didn't sleep, and I don’t have to go anywhere,” he said. “I was up until dawn, then left to come here.”

“So, I was wondering When are you going to invite me to your house?”

He raised a brow, and I smiled innocently. I'd been patient, telling myself not to push, but I was eager to see the place Lucian called home. A person's house said so much about them, and there was a lot about Lucian I still wanted to know. Somehow, I’d feel better about us if I was welcome in his space.

He took my hand and tapped at his bracelet, setting it to teleport home. “I apologize if I’ve been rude by not inviting you over. My home wasn’t put together. But there is actually something I’d like you to see.”

His hand slipped around my waist, and I grinned as he pulled me closer. "What is it?" I asked.

He leaned down to my ear, his breath tickling my skin. “You’ll see when we get there.”
