“You’re going to regret that,” declared the demon who’d been too handsy with me.

“Oh, yeah?” Griffin asked, his voice more growl than human. “You’re going to regret ever placing your disgusting hands on my mate.”

“What’s going on in here?” Amon returned to the scene to see the men in their fighting stance, on the verge of transformation. The demons were goading them, trying to get them riled up so they would change.

“It’s time for you to leave,” Amon said. “I’ll hold my demons back, but you need to get out now.”

No. No. No.

I didn’t want to stay in this realm a minute longer, but we couldn’t afford to lose another alliance.

“But what about your request with the Underworld?” I asked.

“Do it, and you’ll still have my alliance. But as of now, you are unwanted here, and will only cause more trouble. If you can’t get what I want, then you can forget about the alliance and will remain unwelcome in this realm. Now, go!”

Everything disappeared, and we were suddenly standing in front of the warehouse. I looked at Griffin and Cassian, then Ember and Rohan, who were all just as equally confused.

“How did he know where I live?”
