“You don’t know what you’re saying, Judas. I’m just not sure I have that in me,” I breathe. I can feel the pounding of my heart in my chest.

He smiles and shakes his dark head. “Baby, I have never been more clear-headed in my life. I want this. Our future is right in front of us, waiting for us.” He chuckles, but it’s pained and hurt. “But you’re not ready. And I refuse to let you cheapen what I feel for you. What I know you feel for me. You’re my ultimate wish and hope. The only dream that I’ve had for a long time. Don’t push all that we could have aside because you’re scared. At least give this a chance.”

I nod my head slowly. Not really sure why. I’ve never been interested in a future with any man. I’ve seen what being with the wrong man can do to you. If you can’t be sure, why would you risk it?

“I know you think that this is what you want, Judas. But I’m not the same woman with you that I am when I date. With you it’s all fun. That’s not realistic for every day.”

He smirks. “You think I’ve never seen you bitchy, honey? Are you kidding me? Do you remember that guy that tried to cut in front of you in line at the game a week ago?”

I glare at him and cross my arms over my chest, feeling satisfaction when his eyes follow my movements hungrily. “That guy was asking for it and you know it.”

“What I know is you almost made a grown man cry with just your mouth. It was the single hottest thing I’ve ever seen. I love snarky you. She gets me hot.”

“You’re sick in the head!” I cry, smacking him in the chest, feeling the muscles bunch under my hands. I want to stroke that chest bare, feel his warm skin under my fingers.

I shake my head.Stop it, girl! Bad hormones!

He sees it though. I can tell. I draw back and stalk over to the other side of the room. I turn quickly and see his eyes following my hips. He licks his lips and that shot of lust hits my core like a freight train.

Shivers run up and down my arms and I’m caught in the fiery glare he sends me.

I lift my shaking hand and point my finger at him. “Stop it, Judas! Dammit, you can’t look at me like that!”

“Or what?” he asks quietly. He moves closer and it’s like a black hole sucking me in. His body moves towards me and mine moves closer to him. I can’t stay away.

Before I can do what I want to do, he stops and groans, shoveling his hands into his dark waves.

“I can’t do this. We can’t do this. You’re killing me, Brandy. Why don’t you get dressed and I’ll find us a movie to watch down in the theater.”

My eyebrows lift. “You have your own theater?”

Chuckling, he heads for the door. “Just a small one. Come on, get dressed and I’ll even let you pick the movie!”

I eye him cynically. “You don’t have any good romances, do you? It’s all thrillers and scary shit, isn’t it?”

His smile widens. “Come down and find out.”

“I don’t have anything to change into.”

“Check the closet.”

I walk across the room, opening the large doors and then my eyes widen. I turn to him, confused. “Are these all my size?”

“Of course.”

“How do you know my size, Judas?”

“I’ve traced your lovely curves in my dreams so many times that I could have drawn you with my eyes shut.”

“You’re kidding!”

He laughs loudly, throwing his head back. The corded muscles in his strong throat move and my fingers itch to touch him. “Of course I’m kidding. I’ve been to your place and I just checked out your clothes.”

“You went through my clothes?” I sputter, shocked.

That devilish light burns in his dark gaze. “Yeah. Even your underwear drawer.” His eyes shift to below my waist. I fight the insane urge to hide behind a door, a bed, anything.

Instead I lift my chin and stare him down. “I can’t believe you’d do that! Is nothing sacred to you?”
