His hand skims down my back to cup my bare ass. “Yes. At least.”

I bite my lip, shocked to feel my pussy beginning to pulse with that familiar ache all over again. A minute ago, I would have sworn, I didn’t have the energy to do anything but brush my teeth and fall into bed. But now…

Baron arches a brow. “Really? Again?”

I bob a shoulder and grin. “I mean, we’re already here, all naked and stuff. Might as well see if being on top is as much fun as the other positions we’ve tried.”

His eyes darken as I rise to straddle his hips. “You make an excellent point.”

“So do you,” I say as I reach down to grip his already very pointed erection, guiding it to where I need him, where I will always need him. I sink down, taking his cock deep inside, my breath rushing out as he cups my breasts in his palms. “Oh, yes,” I sigh, bracing my hands on his chest as I give an experimental rock of my hips. “Oh, wow, yes, I think this might be another favorite.”

“They’re all your favorite,” he says, teasing my nipples between his fingers, sending lightning scalding through my veins.

“You’re my favorite,” I counter, locking eyes with my beautiful man as I find my rhythm, gliding up and down his burning shaft, so full of gratitude it feels like my chest is overflowing.

“And you are mine.” He grips my hip with one hand as he pulls me down for a kiss with the other.

And as I come again only moments later, I know it’s true.

I am his. I really am.

And I’m going to be his for a very long time.

Thank goodness.

Chapter 18

Baron

Nine months later…

It’s a dazzling October evening, marked by a golden sunset, the smell of autumn leaves, and a faint chill in the air that promises the holiday season will soon be upon us. For the first time in centuries, I can’t wait to celebrate every special day.

But these days, every day is special.

Every day is a miracle that I thank the Goddess for on my knees first thing when I rise and last thing before I turn out the light.

My life overflows with riches, with beauty, with the everyday magic of loving and being loved. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to believe it’s all real.

I do so now, shifting Aurora in my arms just enough to get a fingerful of the skin on my forearm and squeeze.

“Pinching yourself again?” Annie asks from the back door of the Wonderfully mansion, where we’ve gathered to celebrate Casey’s birthday.

I smile. “Just checking.”

“Good. I want to know the moment you realize this has all been a dream so we can go both go back to sleep again,” she says, crossing to settle into the seat next to mine at the dining table. She leans in, brushing a soft kiss across my lips with a sigh. “Want me to put her in the playpen outside? The sun’s almost down and Darcy’s bringing vampire refreshments in a few.”

“Soon,” I promise, relishing the weight of my sleeping little girl. I glance down at her face, my chest tightening the way it does every time I look at my daughter. She looks just like her mother, with the same pale green eyes and graceful lips, but she has my dark hair, a thick, fluffy batch of nearly black curls that sticks up above her head like a swirl of whipped cream on a slice of Thanksgiving pie.

Which reminds me…

“Did you tell Casey?” I ask. “That Edmond will be home earlier than expected?”

Annie nods. “I did.”

“And?” I prompt.

Annie shrugs. “And she seemed happy to hear it but refused to say anything else. At this point, I have no idea if they’re really in love and planning to get married or neck deep in some scheme they’re determined to keep between the two of them.” She brushes Aurora’s curls down over her tiny head, but they bounce back immediately, accompanied by a soft curve of her lips, as is she’s laughing at us in her sleep.
