I curse and fight to hold on for another beat, to enjoy the rush of heat flowing down my cock before I lose myself. I last two, maybe three seconds, before I join her, coming deep inside her pussy, unable to keep from wishing that she had some of her sister Annie’s special breed of magic.

“I’m sorry I can’t give you more children,” I say as we’re catching our breath, still locked together in the dark.

“It’s okay,” she says. “One is good for me. Amy’s my world, but raising her isn’t going to be simple. She’s going to need a lot of attention from both of us to navigate being half demon. And we have Annabelle now, of course, and hellhounds apparently live for hundreds of years, so…”

I huff and smile. “Looks like I’ve found my partner for eternity in a three toothed chihuahua.”

Casey brushes my hair from my forehead. “And me. I know Blaire and Annie aren’t sure yet, but I’m okay with becoming a vampire someday.”

I squeeze her bare hip, happier than I imagined possible, and I’ve been doing a lot of imagining tonight. “Are you sure? I respect your choice, either way. It won’t change the way I feel for you.”

“I know, but I am sure,” she says. “I told Priscilla I didn’t want to be a vampire, but that’s only because I didn’t think I’d get to have forever with you. Besides, I think I’m going to be pretty kick ass at vampiring.”

I grin. “Oh yeah?”

“Yeah. I’m probably going to have a flight form and a mist form and be able to control the weather or something cool like that. Are you going to be intimidated when I’m stronger in the vampire force, Darth Vader?”

“I’m not your father,” I say. “And as long as you’re still down with letting me worship your body in the closet, I don’t care what powers you have. You already hold my heart in your hands, wife. What could be more powerful than that?”

She makes a soft, touched sound. “Aw, you took the teasing and made it sweet. I hate it when you do that.”

“You mean you love it when I do that,” I say, kissing her slow and deep.

She sighs against my lips. “You’re right. I love it when you do that. And when you get hard again this fast. I really love that.”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I say, as I make love to her again, this time spinning her around and taking her from behind, with her full breasts in my hands and her sighs of pleasure perfect in my ears.

We don’t get to bed until hours later, after round three in the shower, and a long talk on the couch about where we want to go on our honeymoon. We decide to book pet friendly hotels—not wanting to leave Annabelle behind so soon after her adoption—and decide Mexico City and the pyramids near Cancun are a must before getting too tired to keep our eyes open.

We head to our family bed with Amy and Annabelle, and I’m awoken at eight a.m. by a toddler sitting on my chest, whispering, “Wake up, Papa Ed-Ed, it’s time to go find my Halloween candy. Mama hid it somewhere, but I’m going to find it.”

“Don’t you dare,” Casey mumbles, her eyes still closed. “I can’t have chocolate and raisins near me right now. Don’t ask me why. You don’t want to know.”

Amy pats her head. “Okay, Mommy, we’ll only bring the other candy. Now, you go back to sleep and be good.”

Casey grins and mumbles, “Never. I’m being bad today, I’ve already decided. And I’m going to start with pancakes in bed. Right after I tickle a little girl I love to the moon and back.”

She lunges up from the covers with a growl and Amy dissolves into giggles as she’s tickled. Annabelle wakes up with a startled bark that becomes a happy one as she jumps into the fray, licking Casey and Amy’s faces until they both stop to wipe their cheeks clean.

“Oh, it tastes like love in here,” the little dog says, beaming at me from the rumpled covers. “Like real, lovely love.”

“It does,” I agree, nearly moved to tears.

Everyday miracles…

I stay grateful for them as Ferris arrives that night with Casey’s little sister, Felicity, and I welcome my scatterbrained, but deeply sweet, new sister-in-law to town. I’m grateful as Casey and I bag a wild turkey for our November, Founder’s Day feast and through the first snow of the year. I’m grateful for building a snowman with my little girl and seeing her face light up at all the presents at our family solstice celebration.

I remain so humbled up to New Year’s Day, when I am profoundly grateful for the hint of the sunrise I glimpse through the front door before retreating to the vampire proof room upstairs in the Wonderfully mansion, the first room finished in our new apartment. Casey, Amy, and Annabelle are already there waiting for me, Casey sensing that this sunrise was one I needed to face alone, and we spend the day watching movies and packing for our big trip.

We leave tomorrow night on a private jet Nathaniel, the vampire king of Chicago, was kind enough to loan us as a wedding gift.

He says he knew we were fated mates the moment he saw us walking out of that concert together four years ago and is glad we finally found our way back to each other.

“And he’s grateful to me for introducing him to his wife, of course,” I say. “She’s the vampire queen of Paris and they have…quite a good time together.”

“Are they the couple that hosts all the orgies?” Casey asks softly, conscious of the little ears napping on the other side of the room while we organize the luggage.

I nod. “They are. They both like to share the love if you will.”
