“Yeah, thanks, Mom. It was great to have some alone time once I finally got Sarah to stop with the freaking laundry,” I tease.

Mom laughs. “Oh well, at least you got some quality time in. I love having Ethan. So does your father and sisters. He makes us laugh so much.”

Ethan comes running down the hallway and smacks into Mom. “Nanny, Nanny,” he calls as she picks him up and places Ethan on her lap. “Momma and Daddy did poo-poo in their bed,” he blurts out making me laugh.

Mo

m tilts her head at me strangely. I glance at Sarah, who’s face tells me she’s more than a little embarrassed—actually, she’s mortified.

“Why do you say that, Ethan?” Mom asks.

“‘Cause their sheets all brown,” he babbles, and then it clicks.

“Oh, that’s chocolate mousse,” I tell her.

Mom smirks and glances at Sarah, who’s purposely not looking at either of us.

“And why would there be chocolate mousse in your bed, CJ?” Mom asks with the biggest grin.

Mom knows why. She’s just asking to embarrass Sarah, and it’s working.

“It was for dessert… if you know what I mean?” I nudge Sarah, waggling my brows, but Sarah huffs, making Mom and me laugh a little louder.

“What’s funny?” Ethan asks, and I scruff his hair.

“Go tell Mommy you want some chocolate mousse,” Mom teases, putting Ethan down.

I smirk at her—sometimes she can be really evil.

“Mommy, can I have chwoclate mousse?” Ethan asks while pulling on Sarah’s robe.

“No, honey, there’s none left. But Daddy will make you some later. Okay?” Sarah tells him, and Ethan runs off again seemingly satisfied.

“I hate you both,” she whispers, and Mom and I start laughing again.

Mom stays for a coffee and tells us all about how Ethan was overnight, how the girls fussed over him like they always do, and how Dad was trying to teach him to play with the toolset they bought Ethan for his birthday. Dad seems to think that when Ethan grows up, he’ll be working at ADF with his pop.

Not likely!

He’s going to be a chef like his dad, and we can run our own restaurant together one day.

We arrive at Aiden’s for dinner to start discussing some of Sarah’s bat-shit crazy ideas with Callie and Mike.

It’s going to be an interesting night.

We walk up to the house, and Mike answers the door. “Hey, guys.”

“Hey, Mike, congrats,” Sarah gushes, leaning in to kiss his cheek.

“Congwats,” Ethan repeats.

Mike chuckles. “Thanks Sarah and Ethan.”

Sarah rolls her eyes. “Sorry, Mike. He’s a parrot these days,” Sarah tells him as she walks inside with Ethan on her hip.

I shake Mike’s hand and walk in behind Sarah looking at her gorgeous, fuckable ass in those tight jeans.

“Hey, everyone,” Sarah calls out as we step out onto the deck.
