“Mine too.”

“You look cute when you blush,” I say to her, my smile wide before I lean down to her ear. “You look even better with my cock in your mouth.” She gasps, and her cheeks go ever redder, making me chuckle.

“So, I have my fight this weekend…” I say, changing the topic, knowing I’ll be training hard for the rest of the week. Though I’ll be making time to see her, regardless.

“Don’t remind me. I hate to see you black and blue,” she grumbles, looking at me with concern.

“I know it isn’t your thing, but I would really like you to come.” I pause and wait for her to wrap her head around my request. “Benji will bring you and be with you the whole time. Dante, Nico, and Sebastian will be there too, and I would like them to meet you, officially, as mine.”

She chews her bottom lip as she thinks it over. “Carter, it isn’t really my thing…” She starts to say, and disappointment wells inside of me. “...but, I will come if you really want me to. I want to support you.” Her hands circle my neck and she lifts up on her toes to kiss me. When she pulls away, I’m smiling like a fool.

“I like it when you come…” I can’t help but tease her, wanting that flush to reappear.

“I like it when you make me come…” she murmurs, and my mouth attacks hers as my fingers find her bare skin underneath her t-shirt.

“Why don’t you go and have a shower, and I’ll clean up and look after Ivy,” I say to her, and she pulls back and looks at me in disbelief.

“Seriously?”

I sour at the fact that she is so shocked that a man would step up and help her.

“Go, baby. I got this.” I give her a quick peck on the lips before I smack her on the ass.

“Carter!” she squeals with a smile, and that is exactly what I want to see on her face from now on. She giggles a little before giving me another kiss.

“I won’t be long. Thank you!” Then she’s scurrying off down the hall.

I finish washing our cups as Ivy walks into the room.

“Why do you call me Little Cub?” she asks, taking me by surprise.

“Because you are your mom's little cub. She is a lioness, and you are her cub.” I lean against the kitchen bench and watch her as she mulls that over. She is just like her mom.

“Okay, wait here,” she says before running to her room, coming straight back.

“We need to have a meeting,” she says seriously as she sits at the dining table with a small pink fluffy notebook and glitter pink pen in her hand.

“A meeting?” I ask, my eyebrow raised. This kid is something else.

“Yes. A business meeting. Please, take a seat,” she explains as she sits up taller, trying to be professional, so I entertain her. I walk over and sit down in the chair opposite her.

“Okay, hit me with it,” I say as I sit up straighter in my chair too, straightening my imaginary tie, matching her demeanor. I can see her trying not to laugh, wanting to remain serious, yet obviously finding it funny that we are now acting like two businessmen in the city.

“So, now that you and my mom are… dating,” she says, drawing out the word in question and looking at me for confirmation. I nod to her in agreement, and see the smile cracking through for a moment before she tries to school it again. My heart beats a little faster, liking that she is happy that I am around, and her mother and I are together. I remain quiet, waiting to see where she is going with this.

“Then it’s time we had an agreement,” she states, steepling her hands and reminding me of Sebastian. That almost has me breaking character.

“An agreement?” I ask her, tilting my head.

“Yes. An agreement,” she confirms.

“Okay, what is this agreement?”

“You need to agree to be our best friend, always and forever. To protect us, to laugh with us, and to always bring candy or donuts whenever you come over,” she says with a completely straight face, and I struggle to not smile, not wanting to insult her when she is taking this so seriously. I want to show her that I will listen to her, whenever she needs me. I never want her to feel like I am dismissing her.

“Okay, I will protect you, laugh with you, and always bring candy or donuts when I come over,” I repeat back to her.

“AND be our best friend,” she reminds me, and I need to take a breath. This kid is accepting me, bringing me into her heart. This moment is significant for the both of us. I never thought I would ever have kids. I never thought they were going to be part of my future, yet here I am, making a deal that is one of the most important of my life.
