She nods and gets up, following him out of the cafeteria.

“That guy just won’t give up, will he?” Nat asks.

Eva shakes her head. “Oak has spoken to him, but he said it’s like talking to a brick wall.”

“Its weird, isn’t it? I mean, why is he so set on sleeping with Adrianna?”

Eva shrugs. “The fact she’s rejected him probably makes him want her more. Like a challenge he wants to overcome.”

“So immature for a grown man,” I say, shaking my head.

“Adrianna can handle it, though. She’s tough,” Nat says.

I nod, as it’s true. Adrianna is one of the toughest people I know and she’s not one to be intimidated, no matter how hard Coach may try to make her back down. I finish the rest of my pizza and then my phone buzzes.

I pull it out of my pocket and find a text from a withheld number.

Meet me in the courtyard outside the library at nine o’clock sharp tomorrow morning. Don’t make me wait or I’ll have to punish you. GN.

I swallow hard, wondering how he got my cell phone number and why he’s withheld his own. It means I can’t respond. He’s just assuming I’ll be around to meet him there, even though I’m leaving for home tomorrow.

I’m not leaving until midday, but he doesn’t know that.

“What are we doing tonight to celebrate?” I ask, trying to ignore the text and the fact he sent it with his number withheld.

“Movies and junk food?” Nat suggests.

I nod in reply. “Sounds like a good idea.” I glance at Eva. “Can you come?”

Eva purses her lips. “Yeah, I’ll text Oak now and let him know.” She pulls her cell phone out of her pocket. “He’s not leaving for Alaska until the day after tomorrow, and you guys leave tomorrow so he’ll understand.”

Nat makes a scoffing sound, which draws Eva’s attention.

“What’s that noise for?”

She shrugs. “He never understands when you want to hang out with us. He’s like a possessive caveman.”

Eva smiles at that. “You haven’t exactly been that free lately for girl’s night since you hooked up with Elias.”

Nat’s cheeks redden. “We’re not as bad as you and Oak.”

“You are both as bad as each other.” My brow furrows as I glance toward the exit of the cafeteria. “Where the hell is Adrianna?”

Eva smirks. “Probably finally caved and jumped into his arms.”

I shake my head. “No chance. Adrianna wouldn’t give in that easily. She’s too stubborn.”

“Come on,” Nat says, standing. “Let’s go and choose a movie. I’ll text her to let her know we’re in her room.”

I arch a brow. “How are we getting into her room without her?”

Nat taps her nose. “I have my ways.”

I sigh and follow my friends toward the dorm, knowing that despite wanting to enjoy our last night together before Spring Break, it’s going to be impossible.

Gavril Nitkin has completely taken my mind for ransom and there’s no way I’ll be able to focus on a movie, no matter what we pick.

Nat opens Adrianna’s room with her own key, somehow.
