“You know you shouldn’t sneak up on people in the dark, you could cause a heart attack.” I manage to keep any emotion out of my voice.

“This, coming from the night ninja who scales walls and climbs trees.” Her hands slide away and I quickly spin around. Ella’s arms are folded across her chest now, unintentionally pushing her tits together and making them look even more fuckin’ tempting.

“Why you stalking me, Nyx?” she asks before I have the chance to speak.

“I ain’t stalkin’ ya,” I snigger, remaining calm and swiping my finger across my bottom lip.

“Oh, so you weren’t in this tree last night, you didn’t climb on to my balcony, and you aren’t standing in my garden in front of me right now?” She stares back at me, the tiny smirk on her mouth making me want to push her against the wall and wipe it away with my lips.

“I was gonna see if you could help me, I’m falling behind.” I stick to my original lie. Abby has the biggest mouth in Castle Rock High so no doubt Ella already knows about our earlier conversation.

“Most people would try the front door approach, maybe send an email or maybe try talking to me at school,” she suggests.

“Yeah, well I ain't normal,” I tell her, placing both my hands in my pockets and kicking up some dirt at my feet, suddenly I feel fucking shy.

What’s with that shit?

“You can come in, you know, no one’s home.” Her saying that catches me off guard, and I quickly look up to check I’m hearing her right. She doesn’t give me a chance to think about it, her delicate warm hand grabbing at mine and tugging me towards her house. I don’t put up a fight, following her lead and letting her lead me until she stops at the back door.

“You sure you’re gonna be okay coming through the door? You could use the balcony if you’d be more comfortable.”

“Funny,” I humor her, trying hard not to blush as I let her pull me through a utility room and then into a kitchen. It’s almost the same size as one of the lounge bars at the club.

“You want something to drink?” she offers, opening up the fridge and looking over all the items.

“Sure,” I shrug, still not really sure what the fuck’s going on here. She doesn’t seem scared, ormad at me. What’s wrong with her?

“You know what?” she smiles a devilish smile over her shoulder, “we can do better than this. Follow me.”Slamming the refrigerator door shut, she breezes past me out into the hall, looking fuckin’ edible with her hair plaited either side of her head and resting on her shoulders. She’s wearing a tank top, light-colored jeans, and a pair of worn-out sneakers. I know she could afford a new pair whenever she wanted, but I stab a guess that she likes these because they are worn in perfectly.

We pass through a huge open spaced hallway, complete with a large ornate staircase just like the ones in the movies.

“Come in here,” she tells me, opening a door on the other side of the room and disappearing inside. I follow her, crossing the hall into the room and closing the door behind me. The room is dark inside. Pitch fucking black in fact. But I can sense she’s close from the sound of her breathing.

“Boo,” she giggles as she flicks on the switch, lighting up another impressively sized room that’s something between a library and an office. The walls are lined with shelves full of books, and a huge mahogany desk sits proudly in the center of the room. There’s an old-style green leather chair behind the desk, and two not so comfortable ones on the other side. Even with the light on, the room remains dark, and there's only one narrow window in the whole room. I’m in Judge Jackson’s office!

“Have a seat,” Ella extends her arm, pointing to one of the chairs and putting on a voice that’s even fancier than her own. I look at her with a raised eyebrow but still do as she requests. I may not be giving it away, but I love seeing her act playful.

She walks over to a cabinet on the far side of the room and opens it up.

“So, what will your poison be?” she looks over her shoulder to ask. The cabinet is full of choice, but I doubt Judge Jackson is a Jack drinker.

“Lady’s choice,” I shrug.

“Very well, he keeps the good stuff at the back,” she winks, reaching up onto her toes, pulling out a bottle, and walking back towards me.

She places a very expensive looking bottle of scotch on the desk between us and then sits in the judge’s chair.

“You wanna play a game?” she asks sweetly. Like she’s asking me to participate in a game of chase or red fuckin’ rover. But the way she kicks her feet up on the surface of the desk suggests that’s not what she wants at all.

“I ain’t really a game kinda guy.”

“You’re right, stalking’s clearly much more your thing. Promise we can play hide and seek later.” She tips her head to the side and raises one of her eyebrows. Her smart little mouth and sass, doing fuck all to calm my cock down.

“I wasn’t stalk…” I start, but gave up halfway through, flinging my arm in the air in defeat. “What’s your fuckin’ game?”

“You tell me something about yourself that no one else knows,” she says quickly.

“That’s a real lame game,” I laugh, watching as she unscrews the cap of the scotch and takes a sip straight out the bottle. Her face creases when the burn of liquor hits her taste buds, pissing all over her hard ass performance.I hide my smirk behind my hand to spare her some embarrassment.
