“Did you give it to him?”

She bites her lip and nods. “I couldn’t think of a reason to say no, plus, I was mad at you.”

Jealousy swirls in my stomach, and I push it down, swallowing thickly. “I’m sorry I made you mad.”

She smiles. “I think you made up for it.” She winks. “Three times.”

I laugh and lean my head down, brushing a kiss on her lips. I want to ask her if she’s going to go out with Jackson, but it’s none of my business. She can date whoever she wants. It’s not like we’re together.

She pulls out of the kiss and lets out a yawn.

“We should sleep. Night, Taylor.”

“Night, Seb.”

She goes to move out of my arms, but I increase my hold on her. “Stay,” I whisper, knowing I’m giving her mixed signals.

“Okay.”

She relaxes against me with her head on my chest. Within minutes, her breathing has evened out and she’s asleep. Despite loving having her in my arms, I can’t push down the feeling that I’m fucking everything up. We can’t be more than friends, but somehow, we already are. Once we’ve crossed that line, though, how do we ever go back?

Iwake the next morning, my body tangled up with Taylor’s. Her head still rests on my chest and my arms are wrapped around her. Although I know I shouldn’t be holding her like this, I can’t bring myself to move. Sighing, I drop a kiss on her head.

“Morning,” she says quietly, her voice thick with sleep.

“Morning.”

She tilts her head and smiles, pressing a kiss onto my jaw. “How did you sleep?” she asks.

“Good. You?”

“Yeah, good.”

Her fingers trace circles over my chest, and when her touch begins to drive me crazy, I flip her onto her back and bring my body over hers. She gasps as I roll my hips, my erection pressing between her legs. I drop my head and kiss her, snaking my tongue into her mouth. As the kiss gets heated, a knock sounds on the door and I groan, pulling back.

“I bet that’s Paisley,” she whispers, her voice breathless.

“She has the worst timing. Do you think she has some sort of sixth sense?” I wriggle my eyebrows, and she laughs.

“I don’t think so. Do you want to hide in the bathroom?”

My eyes widen in surprise. “You want to keep me a secret?” I tickle her side, and she squirms underneath me.

“Stop it.” She giggles, pushing my hands away. “She’ll hear us.”

“You weren’t sayingstop itlast night.” I wink, and she rolls her eyes.

“She hasn’t stopped asking me what’s happening between us since she found out we slept together last time. Maybe your suggestion of keeping things between us wasn’t the worst idea. I don’t think she’d get the wholefriends with benefitsthing.”

“What did you tell her?”

Her eyes drop from mine. “Nothing.” There’s another knock on the door.

“I’ll go and hide.”

I brush my lips against hers before climbing off the bed and walking naked across the room. I’m just at the bathroom door when Taylor whisper-shouts, “Seb! Your sleep shorts.”
