“No,” I growled. “I’m the one she’s gotten close to. It’s my daughter she cares for. Let me talk to her, pres. I’ll fucking figure this out.”

The thought that Skyla could be lying, deceiving me after all this time and while caring for my daughter, pissed me off to the point that I wanted to hurt her, and that didn’t bode well for the little cock-tease. She aroused my anger as viciously as my lust, and a part of me hated her for it. Staking a claim in front of my brothers as I’d done, it was my fucking duty to learn the truth and punish her if warranted.

My Reaper hissed, not liking that she was used and harmed. He felt something deeper, more disturbing under the surface, and it all centered around Skyla.

Grim sucked down another shot, tossing it down his throat before he turned in my direction. “Fine. Do it tonight. I don’t want to sit around holding my dick without answers, waiting for shit to go down.”

“You got it, pres.”

Diablo wasn’t getting her blood on his hands, and Rael wasn’t going to scare her into cooperating. No fucking way.

It didn’t sit well with me that I considered Skyla’s protection first and her betrayal second. Fucked up, if I admitted the truth to myself, but my Reaper wasn’t changing his mind. His frustration matched my own. We didn’t want to consider the idea that she used us, that she came here with an agenda and meant to harm the club. Or that she had been sent here to infiltrate and weasel her way in, learning about the day-to-day operation of the club.

“We got one more order of business,” Grim announced, turning to Wraith. “Something I’m fuckin’ happy to let our brother handle.”

Expectant, I couldn’t hide my smile. We all knew what this was about—a new prospect.

“My son Zane is interested in following my footsteps and patching in with the Royal Bastards.” His chest puffed a little, matching the pride heavy in his voice.

“What say you, my brothers? Does he have what it takes to prospect with the Tonopah chapter?”

“Hell yeah.”

“He’s as fucking crazy as his old man.”

“Kid is a good fit.”

“About time this came up in church.”

My brothers offered their opinions, a few slapping Wraith on the back. Smiles brightened the faces of most of my brethren.

“Then we take it to vote,” Grim announced. “Who’s gonna be his sponsor?”

Wraith couldn’t do it since he already sponsored Spook.

“I’d like a crack at him,” Mammoth volunteered, eliciting a chuckle from Wraith. “Breaking him in is gonna be fun.”

Laughter followed as Wraith shook his head, amused. “My son can take it.”

“Fuck yeah, he can,” Rael agreed.

“Those in favor of Zane prospecting with the club, say Aye.”

A chorus of Aye circled the table.

Grim nodded. “Any opposed?”

No one said a word.

“It’s official. Zane is a new prospect, sponsored by Mammoth.”

Fists pounded the table, and a few feet stomped, not leaving any doubt that Wraith’s son would become a member of this club in the future.

I tried to smile, to offer my congratulations, but it felt hollow. All my thoughts centered on Skyla and the mess I had to sort. She didn’t stand a chance. My Reaper wouldn’t let her free, not until every last secret had been spilled.

I’d fuck the answers out of her if I needed to, and I didn’t care what that meant or how it could fuck things up even more. The truth was all that mattered. If she fed information about the club to our enemies, she would pay the price. If she didn’t, then I knew how to proceed.

I knew exactly where I’d take her, to a house of sin and seduction, placing her at my mercy. She could fight me all she wanted but strapped down, naked, and with all my toys teasing her into arousal, Skyla would eventually give in.
