Chapter 11

“He sent me to spy,but I haven’t. I swear, Daniel!”

I wanted to believe her. I fucking needed to because I risked so fucking much letting her get close to my daughter and me.

“Why?”

“Can I roll over and talk to you about this?”

“No,” I hissed. “You’ll fucking keep that ass and pussy right where I want them. One way or another, I’m fucking you in this room tonight.”

She sighed. “I don’t know all the reasons, but I can tell you that my father and Razr share a lot of business interests. They both hate the Royal Bastards.”

Razr’s reasons were obvious. His father killed our previous pres, Keys, and another club member. In retaliation, we took out his father, Scar, and brother, Acid.

Our clubs were at war and had been since 2002 when all that shit went down.

“I know why Razr hates the club. Tell me about John.”

Taking the shaft of the flogger tightly in my hand, I slowly dragged the tresses up the back of her right leg, letting the tails tickle her skin.

Skyla trembled. “Please.”

This wasn’t about arousal. She didn’t want to talk about her father. Too fucking bad.

“Answer me,” I warned, picking up the flogger and striking across her right cheek.

“Ahhhh,” she screeched, panting hard as a red welt began to appear.

I didn’t hit her hard, just enough for her to know I wasn’t playing around, not with the questions I asked. “Skyla?”

“My father hates you because you killed his son, my step-brother, Bowie.”

Blinking, I stumbled back, nearly falling into a chair. How was this fucking possible?

Bowie Stanton attacked the Crossroads on a suicide mission. He was a fucking member of the Bloody Scorpions MC. When he rammed his bike into the fence, I was the one closest to the gate. Bowie lifted his gun and aimed. I didn’t have time to think. I shot him before he could hurt any of my brothers.

His death caused an uproar. Senator John Mitchell lobbied for stricter gun laws and tried to rally the citizens of Tonopah, Hawthorne, and the surrounding cities against the RBMC, citing we were an outlaw club. I never understood why it seemed so personal to him. Now I knew.

We believed the hit was sanctioned because of the war with the Scorpions. Seemed that was partially true. The senator had serious pull with Razr, but why send his son to the Crossroads? That didn’t make sense.

“Why did Bowie ram his bike into the gate? Why did he fucking come to the Crossroads at all?”
