“When you said no one knew, does that mean my brother’s in the dark about this?” I raise one eyebrow and try not to sound too judgmental.

She bites the inside of her lip and looks away.

“Shiloh!” I say loudly.

“I’m going to tell him. I promise. More than likely today. He’s been looking at me strangely, so I’m sure he’s about to find out sooner or later. I’m going to tell him tonight. I just don’t want to have any argument with him. You know how he is,” she says with a shrug.

“Yeah. I know exactly how he is.” I nod and help her up off the bench.

My brother and I are alike in so many ways that I can almost guarantee the only argument that she’s going to be having tonight is how to get him to stop tending to her. Hammer’s a great father to his daughter, Oakleigh, since he found out she was his. I can’t wait for him to love on this one and to actually be there for the entire experience this time.

“Oh crap, before we go home, I have to make a stop. I almost forgot.” Shiloh puts a hand up to her face.

“Yeah? What for?” I ask, thinking that she’s trying to get away from going back home.

“The costumes for tonight. Are you going to the Halloween party that the clubhouse is throwing?”

Oh crap, I nearly forgot all about that. I have my idea for a costume. “Yeah, I wanted to go, but I didn’t pick up a costume yet. You want to head over to the costume shop a couple of blocks over that’s on the way to the clubhouse?” I ask, and Shiloh nods her head. Her face has taken on her normal color, and her eyes are less glassy than before. Still, I keep my arm entwined through hers in case she falls or something like that, so I can be able to catch her.

“You’re not going to let me go, are you?” she asks, and we start to walk.

“No, no, ma’am, I’m not,” I say matter-of-factly and put my head up to the sky.

The Halloween store is literally only a few minutes away, and the minute we both get inside, we know what we’re going to be for the party. Shiloh picked up a Sandra Sanderson costume from Hocus Pocus, and I got a circus ringmaster. Of course, both of the costumes were sexy and would be sure to turn some heads tonight. I only know of one head in particular that I want to turn, and if the way I felt in this costume was any indication, Armor’s going to have such a hard time keeping his eyes off me tonight. It’ll be exactly how I want it.

Armor

I’m sitting at the bar, minding my own business, when Hammer comes in through the front doors. There aren’t any patrons in here right now, but that doesn’t mean some won’t be walking in in a few minutes.

His nostrils are flaring, and I’m trying to figure out what would make him so damn irritated. “You good, man?”

“Mmm, I will be as long as all of you fuckers listen up. You better listen up real good,” Hammer’s voice gets louder until everyone in the clubhouse looks at him. “My baby girl is comin’ into town tonight. She’ll be here right in time for the Halloween party, and I swear on her life ifanyof you look at her in a sexual manner, I’ll spoon out your eyes and eat them for dinner.”

“Dios Mio, someone’s being a bit dramatic,” Mabel laughs in the background, and Ops glares at her to shut her mouth.

“Oh, I’m not bein’ dramatic at all, sweetheart. Y’all won’t even begin to understand until one of you fuckers make the grave mistake of lookin’ at Oakleigh like she’s your next meal,” Hammer grits, glaring at every single brother in the house.

“I take it she must be a looker, then?” Killer questions and Hammer rushes up to Killer, grabs him by the collar of his shirt, and shoves him against the wall.

“My club might be allies with you, but I sure as fuck won’t be if you don’t heed my warning.”

“Oye! Let Killer go. You know he’s just busting your balls anyway.” Mabel decides to be the peacekeeper here and interjects herself.

Hammer lets go of Killer, and Mabel goes into the center of the bar. “I take it everyone in here heard Hammer, yeah?”

The group of us reply back to her with a series of “yeahs”.

“Perfect. Don’t fuck a good thing up,” Mabel tells the group of us, and she doesn’t need to be preaching to any of us. Hammer seems a bit heated about the whole thing, so why would we poke the bear, so to speak? We might like fucking with each other, but we’re not that dumb.

A few hours end up passing by, and a lot of the brothers are in costumes. Mabel’s some sort of garden fairy thing with a skirt that barely covers her ass, and Ops has been running around standing behind her. It’s amusing as fuck, so I’ve been enjoying the show.

Shiloh and Jada came in here a while ago. Shiloh’s costume looks really familiar, but I can’t place it. I think she’s some sort of witch, but who the hell knows. Jada, on the other hand, is a very sexy circus ringmaster, and I’d love to see her in action with that costume.

The door to the bar is open tonight, and the bar’s filling up with random people from the street. Every once in a while, we do open our club to outsiders. It helps us make some good cash at the bar, too, so throwing a Halloween party was a perfect idea if you ask me.

I sit at the bar and keep staring at Jada, who’s chatting with Mabel right now. Ops comes up to the bar with an exhausted expression on his face. “You all right, brother?”
