Page 36 of Armor's Mistake

He’s said the words many times, but the weight of them now feels like a warm security blanket over my shoulders. I lean down and kiss his lips, making sure to stay away from the large bandage on his chest.

“You just had to go do it, didn’t you?” I raise an eyebrow at him, poking fun at the situation.

“Of course. You know I couldn’t let him get away with it.”

I scoff and fall back into the chair, never letting go of his hand. “Yeah, ‘cause you’re stubborn as can be.”

That gets a soft chuckle out of him, and finally, this nightmare of a day is turning into a dream.

EPILOGUE

Jada

Three Years Later . . .

I close my eyes as the brisk, salty breeze flows over my face.

There’s no way that things could get any better than they are right now.

This is my dream come true.

My hands run down the white and pale red lace party dress that I’ve chosen to wear for the small celebration. I told Armor we didn’t need it, but he refused to just let me give up on a dream I had.

“Wait, put that over there,” I call out to one of the resort workers as they bring my lantern decorations out from the back. My toes dig into the sand as I rush over to help out. Of course, the resort promised that everything would be to my liking, but of course, I can’t just give up control like that.

After all, how many times does a girl get their dream wedding?

After Armor was shot, I just couldn’t stand to wait and have some big elaborate wedding, even though, in my heart, that’s what I really wanted. He tried to make me see reason, but I told him that I wanted to marry him right away, and nothing he was going to say would make me change my mind.

In typical Armor fashion, he did what he had to do to make it happen. The minute he was able to stand upright, we went right to the courthouse, and he gave me his last name.

I was over the moon to be his wife, and ever since then, he made sure to do his best, not only to show me that I was a priority in his life but to make sure that I always felt safe and appreciated. For a big bad biker man, he sure does know how to make me melt in his hands.

Everything moved on in our lives quickly, according to him. One day about three months ago, we were watching TV, and I let it slip that I would’ve loved to have a beach wedding, that it would be my absolute dream.

That was all the reason Armor needed. He damn near demanded that I plan a full wedding like I wanted, and we would renew our vows the right way, with all of our family and friends present. The way we both deserved to have it done.

Once I got over the fact that he wasn’t going to let this go, I got right to work planning my dream wedding here in Fiji. Not only is the island absolutely breathtaking, but it has been the only place I could ever see my wedding taking place.

At first, I was worried about the cost and then about what it would be like to get all of our family to travel this far, but Armor made sure I had nothing to worry about. Anytime there was a doubt in my mind, he was right there to erase it. At one point in our lives, he told me that he was a lucky man to have someone like me, but in reality, I’m more than lucky to have someone like him. I’m blessed.

I only hope that I can make him as happy as he makes me.

Even with all the drama of the clubhouse and the bad shit that tends to happen to us, I can’t imagine having my life without him and all his drama. Now, for the second time, I’m going to be able to declare that to the world when I walk down the aisle tomorrow and into Armor’s arms.

“How’s this? Better?” The resort worker asks, not upset at all that I basically ran onto the venue site and told him how to do his job.

“Yes. Much. Thank you.” I smile at him and make a note to find a way to give all these people a very hefty tip. Though I’m sure Armor’s going to take care of that too.

“Running away from me already?”

I turn my head at the sound of Armor’s voice and can’t stop the large smile that breaks across my face. He’s always making me happy.

“Never. I’m all yours, Armor,” I say as I walk over to where he is.

He’s got on a pair of dark linen pants and a t-shirt that accentuates not only his muscles but the tats that snake up and down his arms. His facial hair is trimmed neatly, and if I didn’t know any better, I’d say he was a clean-cut gentleman. Only I know the truth. There’s nothing clean about my man. He’s as dirty as they come, and I love it.

He grabs hold of me around my waist and pulls me closer to him, letting me feel his growing erection. “You better stop looking at me like that, or I’m going to have to call this party off.”
