He pulls her closer. “Not a chance.”

What’s with these men and being hot and cold? Are all men this way or are they a special breed?

“And just wherethe fuck were you two?” Beckett asks Amiyah and Madden as they lounge on opposite couches.

Amiyah shrugs, tossing a piece of popcorn into her mouth. “Chilling.”

He narrows his eyes. “Were you justchilling?”

She ignores him, turning to face Prim and me. “Let’s see the new tatts.”

Prim pales at the word, but Vance is who answers, “I’m about to do them. As you very well know, we didn’t stay long.”

“I wanna watch.” Amiyah claps.

Vance rolls his eyes. “Go put on something comfortable and meet me back down here,” he says to me.

I follow him up the stairs, turning into my room and throwing on some spandex and a baggy shirt. I even throw my hair up into a messy bun. Already knowing where my tattoo is going. When I come back into the living room, Vance has set everything up next to the lounge leather couch. Heavy metal music slams through the speakers and Amiyah dances around, head banging before falling into a fit of giggles. “Is she high?”

Madden nods. “Yep.” And then he takes a sip of his beer, eyes focused on her.

“Where do you wantMisfitsstamped for life?” Vance asks.

I point to the back of my neck. “Here.”

“Then how will I fuck you if I can’t grip the back of your neck?” Beckett whispers darkly into my ear.

“You’ll have to be creative.” He smirks at that.

I go and lay face down on the chair. “I hope you know what you’re doing, Vance. Because this is for life.”

“Shut your mouth before I purposely do a bad job, Soulless.” I know he’s teasing, but there is still a threat there.

I lay still as he wipes something cool on the back of my neck. And then I feel the sharp pinch of the needle on the nape of my neck, and it’s an instant addiction. The pain, the endorphins it sends through my brain. It doesn’t take long, maybe thirty minutes, and I’m actually sad when it’s over. I feel a cool gel being wiped over the ink and then Vance pinches my arm. “You’re done, brat.”

“Thanks.” I stick my tongue out at him and I see a real grin take over his face. Like the Joker, this fucker is scary.

“That’ll scare children,” I point out.

He glares. “Move.”

“You need to wrap it.”

“Yeah, no shit. Don’t you want to see it first?” he asks, snapping a photo of it on his phone.

“No, I trust you.”

He leans in close and whispers, “Good, but be cautious of everyone else. Got me?”

I swallow. “Got you,” I whisper back.

“I change my mind,”I say, pacing the living room.
