“Tell me, which panties are you wear—”

“Stop it! Just stop it!” He keeps trying to throw me off my game. To mess with my mission. Does he really expect me to submit to whatever he wants? “You tampered with my account.” I am harsh and blunt. I hear him hum, and it makes me want to go for the jugular.

“I am a man of many things, but hacker extraordinaire, I am not. But I like your level of confidence in me. Thanks, baby.”

I huff dramatically over his unashamed attempt at flirting. “Mark’s dates got canceled. Yours got added.”

“You don’t say.”

Damn his sarcasm! “Cut the crap, Graham. It’s not fair. He reserved me first.”

I can hear a creak. I picture him leaning back in a deluxe leather chair to rest his body away from his desk. Is he still at work?

“How about we discuss this in person? Are you free now? I can stop by your place.”

I look at the clock and see that I have thirty minutes until the show starts. “I can’t tonight.”

“You better be keeping your ass at home and not whoring it around the city.”

“You did not just insinuate that I am a slut. Again. Oh, the nerve of you! This is getting old.”

“Hanging out with Tanner will give you that reputation, Miss McFee. Keep that in mind whenever you are trying to keep up a good reputation. When can I see you?”

“I’m done with class at eleven tomorrow.”

“I can rearrange my schedule for you. I’ll have Collins pick you up in the visitor 2B parking lot on campus at that time.”

Conveniently, I park there on Tuesdays. Of course, stalker man would know that. “I can drive if you give me an address.”

“You’ll be coming to my office during my break. To avoid the security protocol upon entering the building, I would prefer if you were escorted. At least for your first time.”

“But I—”

“Angela.” His voice vibrates with an understood warning.

I shiver at his pushiness. Even at my height of anger, a small part of me is turned on.

“Can’t you just give your staff a photo of me and tell them not to shoot?” I am only kind of joking.

“All members of my immediate staff are very aware of what you look like and who you are to me.” I swallow hard as I listen intently. What am I to him? Not even I am privy to that type of information. “But I want you in my office promptly upon arrival tomorrow.”

Where does he work—a fortress?

“Thus, Collins will need to be there to bypass some of the levels of security.”

“Oh,” I answer dumbly. I am very glad he cannot witness my mouth gaping like a largemouth bass. Why the hell does this man who makes jewelry need so much protection? What is he hiding?

“I’ll have lunch catered. You seemed fine with everything the night we went to El Pastel. But do you have any dietary restrictions? Types of food you don’t like?”

“Um. No. Not that I can think of. I like most food, unless it is some weird Asian delicacy.” Like grilled insects and animal digestive system organs.

His laughter lightens my mood. “So, no jokbal, hongeo, or balut. Got it.”

“I have no idea what those things are. But it is probably safe to say I would not be that willing to chow down on them. But I rarely refuse to try anything at least once.”

“Whenever I travel to Thailand and South Korea, I make it a point to try one cultural delicacy per visit.”

Wow. I can count the states I have been to using my fingers. Three of them were the “just passing through” states, so they don’t really count. As for being out of the country ever? Nope. I don’t even have a passport.
