Graham’s hands explore my sides as my body trembles over the feeling of being desired.

“Let’s get you inside, shall we?” he asks with a smirk.

I give him a nod and a yelp when he scoops me into his arms and hauls me over his shoulder.

“Stop, people will see,” I squeal.

“Funny how you didn’t seem to care just minutes ago about anyone other than me when you attacked me.”

“That was not an attack,” I giggle.

“It most certainly was.”

Graham gives my ass a playful swat. Soon we are in the elevator, and his keycard is pressed into the penthouse slot. Once inside his foyer, he sets me down and helps me remove my shoes and suit coat. He discards his own. He then scoops me back up and carries me into the living room, nearly tossing me onto his couch. He follows me there. His body towers above me as he runs his fingers through his hair, while balancing his weight on his elbow. It’s as if he is having some internal battle with himself.

He bends down, capturing my lips, as my fingers thread into his hair. He takes my breath away. I grind my core upwards, trying to get the friction my body needs.

Pulling back, Graham smiles and then kisses my forehead. “You need to eat something.”

I prop my weight up on my elbows and let out a whimper. “What? Right now?”

I watch in disappointment as Graham runs both hands through his hair and then peels himself from my body. He walks into the kitchen and opens the fridge, peering inside.

“How does a turkey and cheese sandwich sound?” he calls out to me.

“Sounds like avoidance if you ask me.”

His eyes dart to mine. “I’m not going to continue this line of conversation until you’ve been adequately fed. Taking care of you will always be my first priority, Angela.”

Problem is my sexual needs outweigh my hunger needs at this moment. I sit upright and cross my arms over my chest as I watch Graham toast me up a sandwich. His eyes catch mine, as I can’t help but stare, and wiggle with delight as he finishes up his task.

Carrying the plate to me with a glass of juice, he sits down on the opposite end of the sofa and watches with excitement as I take the first bite. It’s good.

“I feel like there’s a secret ingredient in here,” I say, lifting up the top layer of bread to inspect what’s inside. “It’s really delicious.”

Graham’s smile is warm. “I put a little Italian dressing inside.”

I nod and sip some of the cranberry juice, placing the glass back down onto the table. Every bite of my sandwich brings huge overwhelming feelings to the forefront of my brain.

Graham cares for me—even if it is a bit over-the-top at times.

And no matter how hard I’ve been trying to push him away, maybe it took all of these struggling moments to realize that he is who I needed the whole time.

Placing my empty plate down beside the glass, I crawl toward him, curling up on his lap like a kitten.

Graham is warm, and the calmness that he brings to me is like a soft blanket, enveloping me when I need it the most. Feeling safe for the first time in so long, I let down my guard and allow my body to relax into a peaceful slumber, tucked into his side.

“Angie…”

“Hmm?”

I press my chest against his, as he wraps me in his arms. My lips start at the base of his neck, kissing the smattering of stubble that’s just started to form. I can feel his pulse change, as I work my way up to his ear, where I nip at his lobe. His thighs shift as I continue my sensual assault without a word.

“Are you flirting with me?”

My eyes adjust to the light in the room, as I force them to open. The sun is now setting, casting a warm glow to the entire penthouse.
