“Did you know most women are capable of full release in such a way? It’s something I learned when I spent six months in Asia with Bennett. I learned the skill but didn’t use it...certain I wouldn’t find a woman adventurous enough to roll with it if I was successful.” His hand slipped over her damp skin and up to cup her face. “How do you feel?”

Hoarsely, she asked, “How old were you?”

“Twenty.”

“You waited until now to make a woman come all over you like you were caught in the spray of a broken faucet?”

He grinned. “How do you feel, Nina?”

Swallowing, she tried to clear her throat and ended up squeaking instead. “Like I just came for the first time…”

“Powerful?”

She nodded and admitted, “And a little embarrassed.”

“That must be unusual.”

“It is.”

He bent and kissed her deeply. When he pulled back, he asked, “How would you like to feel it again?”

“God, yes.”

“I need to check on Bennett. Shower and take a nap if you like. When I come back, maybe you’ll come on my face again.” One more rough kiss and he stood.

Striding to the bathroom, she listened as he cleaned up. He was shirtless when he left the attached room and walked to his closet. He quickly shrugged on a fresh tank top, button-down shirt, and suit jacket.

Returning to her, he bent and dragged his tongue from her pussy, over her clit, up her torso, around her nipple, along her neck, and to her mouth.

She felt marked, claimed. His kiss was devastating.

“I love all the flavors of you, Nina. Don’t leave yet. Stay here and I’ll be back.” Another quick kiss and he was gone.

Nina stared at the ceiling, legitimately questioning whether her legs would hold her up if she stood.

Eventually, she decided to risk it and felt an internal blush seeing the wetness on the edge of the duvet and down the side, a small puddle on the wood floor beneath the bed.

She made it to the shower and stood there for a long time letting the water beat down on her back. Her muscles twitched.

Part of her wanted to run.

Part of her wanted more.

She wasn’t sure which inner voice to heed.

First, she had to stop shaking.

Chapter Seven

After showering, Nina fully intended to leave James’ room and return to the party. She wanted to say her goodbyes, grab her luggage, call a car service, and leave straight for the Austin airport before dawn.

She knew Miss Jeffries had her purse. The woman was uncannily good at keeping an eye on women’s handbags. Tossing her panties in the bathroom trash can, she slipped her dress over her head and grabbed her heels.

Everything inside Nina hesitated.

She walked to the window and stared at the party below that was still going strong - guests eating, dancing, and laughing.

Miss Jeffries chatted animatedly with Mary-Margaret. Gage stood at one of the bars nursing a drink he probably wanted to drain in one shot.
