“I’d rather it be morning, please. I've dealt with more than enough emergencies thank you very much.” I roll over and wrap myself into Percy’s side.

“True.” He stretches before he yawns and gets up leaving me snuggled against his side of the bed.

“I guess I better get up too.”

He turns to me and when I look up, his face is a mask of sincerity. “You don’t have to, you know.”

“Yeah, I do. My boss is going to flip out if I don’t at least check-in today.” I run my hands through my hair and swing my feet over to the floor.

“I mean, the offer to come work at Snow Chronicle is still on the table. I’d even throw you in the newsroom if that’s what you want to do. I just don’t think your efforts are being appreciated over there.”

I roll my eyes and want to be pissed but I know he’s not doing this out of malice, “Percy, I already told you. I’m not going to start working for you, because we have a personal relationship. I’ll make my way up on my own.”

He nods again, “Well would you at least apply, I won’t even check to see if you did. Let the rest of the team see what you can offer on paper and they can hire you that way.”

I sigh, “Sure I can think about that.” I tell him. I’m not going to be doing it for a long time, but I don’t want to argue about it.

My work ethic just will not allow me to take a hand out from him. I’ll get in the door on my own merit or not at all.

“You will be coming back tomorrow to finish the interviews and things?” He asks as he walks over to his closet and starts to pull out a few pieces of clothes.

“I think I’ve got everything I need.” I actually had way more than I needed, but I didn’t want to spit on his hospitality.

“Oh, don’t you think you need to take some exclusive photos of the grounds and the CEO? You know what they say, ‘A picture is worth a thousand words.’” He gives me a cheeky smile and I can’t do anything but laugh at him.

“Why do I have the feeling that you’re going to do everything in your power to keep me in your office?” I sit up in the bed and watch him move around the room.

“Because you know I get what I want.” He stands by the door of his shower looking at me with fire in his eyes.

“Oh? What if I say no?” I raise an eyebrow, knowing damn well that this is futile. I’m going to give in to what he wants.

When he starts stalking closer to me I lean away from him like I’m scared. Even if he cares he doesn’t show it.

He grabs hold of my foot and tugs me down on the bed with such a force that I almost slide off the bed. His hands stop my motion and he rips the covers off me before he falls down to his knees and rips my panties off violently. “Then I just have to persuade you, now won’t I?”

I don’t have time to answer, his face is already between my thighs and my eyes are crossing from the intense pleasure his tongue is giving me. He’s like a fucking magician the way he pulls these orgasms out of me. One behind the other until I don’t know what my name is, let alone what I was saying no to.

Two orgasms later, my body feels like putty on the bed and Percy is harder than steel. He tosses me over his shoulder as if I weigh nothing at all and we make our way into the shower. The warm water pushes me further into bliss and I allow him to handle me any way he wants. His mouth seals over my breast and he slowly slides his finger in between my folds getting me ready for what I know is coming. He fucks me against the wall like he owns me and every part of me is telling me that he does.

I’m walking on cloud nine when I get into my office. It’s been a while since I was back here, but for some reason everything seems so much brighter.

“What the hell happened to you?” Larry asks when I go to sit in my cubicle.

“Nothing just tumbled into something big and needed to follow up on it.” I didn’t want to let anyone know what I was doing yet, but I’m sure Sam wasn’t going to let my absence go with that lame excuse.

“Oh, that’s cool. We missed you around here. Thought you were just moving on, you know, like you got a new job somewhere and didn’t tell us.” Larry peered at me.

“No, I’d come tell you guys right away. For sure.” I’d never just leave without saying anything to them. They’ve become as close to me as anyone over the last few years. “No new job, just chasing a story.” I shrug.

“Hmm, what kind of story?” Larry digs deeper.

I squint my eyes and tilt my head, “Current events.” I say slowly. Larry knows better than to try and hustle me, but that’s exactly what it sounds like he’s doing. The man thinks I’m just going to give him my story, because he’s asking about it. Sorry, not going to happen.

“You need any help writing it up? I could go through the fact sheets if you have any?”

Ha! He is trying to play me, sorry Larry, try again next time. “Nah, I think I got it. Thanks though. I actually should get in to see Sam before he comes out here looking for me.” I stand up and walk over to the editors office leaving Larry behind with no idea what I’m working on.
