"Ma'am, what is the nature of your visit today?" I snap at her.

"Um..." she squeaks, "Uh... i ....um... I've been having a bit of trouble with a cough and a sore throat." She answers.

"Fine, Go out to the nurse's station and have Nurse Thomas put you in a room to wait for me." I say, and she gathers her things, trying to get out of the room as soon as possible.

"You don't need to examine her, I've already..."

"I know exactly what you were doing! Your actions here are beyond reprehensible, and are downright unprofessional. You have no moral compass, I see, and therefore you have no further placement at this hospital." I say, doing my best not to raise my voice much louder than it already is, but the anger I feel is consuming.

I walk out of the patient room, Olivia right on my heel. I move to the side, and she rushes over to the nurse's station before I can say anything to her.

"Wait! What the hell are you saying to me?" Dr. Blondell roars as he storms in my direction out into the hallway for everyone to see.

"I'm saying you're fired effective immediately! Get your things and vacate the premises, or will I have to call the sheriff's office to get you to leave?" I keep myself as even as possible, but when he laughs, I have to stop myself from punching his teeth in.

"Oh, the sheriff's office? Of course, you'd need to call dear old daddy." He says.

"Get out of my hospital." I snarl. He's pushing me too far.

"Whatever." he flips me off before walking toward the doctors' lounge, hopefully to get his things.

It's church house silent in the otherwise full waiting area.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for the disturbance." I nod once before I glance back to the patient board and realize that there are now only two of us to handle all these patients.

Could this day get any worse.

"Um, Dr. Dracos." Nurse Thomas says getting my attention and for the first time I see a new woman standing next to her.

She's in blue and orange scrubs. Her hair is tied up in a high bun, while strands of her auburn locks hang loose, framing her face. She stares at me wide-eyed. Intensely.

This must be the new temp.

She looks soft, timid. I shake my head and go on to the next patient without listening to whatever introduction Ardi was about to make. I've seen nurses like that all my career.

She'll never make it here.

I've heardall about Dr. McDreamy, but no one warned me about Dr. Douche.

I stare daggers at the back of the man's head as he completely ignores Ardi's attempt to introduce me.

I figured getting in a little early would help the hospital out, but now I wish I would have stayed in my RV until this afternoon like I planned. I don't know what the hell that asshole’s problem is, but he's got the stick too far up his rear end. I'm sure there's a medical procedure one of the other doctors here can perform to remove it.

"Well, so much for that." Ardi scratches the side of her head, her super short platinum silver hair ruffling slightly.

"Yeah, I guess so." I shrug and give her my attention. "What's his deal anyway? He doesn't like outsiders or something?" I look around the clinic area at the tremendous number of waiting patients, "I mean, it's not like you guys don't need the help."

"Oh no, for sure. We need the help so bad, that's just how he is." Ardi offers in explanation.

I turn to look in the direction the man walked off in and even though I can no longer see him I'm still perturbed by the rudeness of the entire situation. I can appreciate how busy it is and also the insane drama that just went down with the other doctor, but it only takes half a second to say hello. If he can't afford that, then he shouldn’t be working with people at all.

"Look, I know today is your first day here, but there's something that you should know." She says and pulls me away from the ears of the other nurses at the nurses station.

I look around for clues, slightly worried that she's going to tell me the town is under some mysterious curse that turns everyone into werewolves, and now that I'm here I'm infected, but instead she says.
