"Sure. What is it?"

"You contact everyone in the apprenticeship program and let them know they're going to start next Monday."

"Next Monday? We're starting it early?"

"Yeah," he said. "I think you'd like to see Alice more frequently, and well, I wouldn't mind seeing Molly around."

"So you like her."

He started laughing. "Like is a very strong word. Do I think she's pretty, possibly even beautiful? Sure. Will she make it enjoyable coming to the office? Maybe. I love coming to the office anyway. Is she going to make me a lot of money? I don't know. But am I willing and ready to change stuff up around here? Sure am." He winked at me. "Let's see what happens."

"Okay. I’ll contact them and the others in the program."

"Awesome. I'm sure Alice will be happy to hear that you’re staying around."

"I guess she will," I said, nodding. "I mean, she wasn't sad that I was leaving, but—”

"Then she's a good actress because I saw the way she was looking at you at our event and... Hey, her eyes were following you around the room everywhere you went."

"Really?" I stared at him in surprise. "I didn't know that."

"Yeah, really. But I've got to be honest, quite a few men were checking her out, too, myself included. But Molly's a bit more my type."

I started laughing then. "Okay, Travis, I'll give them a call."

"I'll speak to you later, and thank you."

Chapter33

Alice

"I'm so excited we're going to start work next week," Molly said as we sipped our cappuccinos. "I'm so thankful I met you guys."

"Why?" I asked her.

"Because if I hadn't met you, then I wouldn't have this amazing job that's going to pay me boatloads of money."

"I mean, we haven't started yet," I said, laughing, "but hopefully, we'll be making loads of money."

"Foster is so cool for putting in a good word for us."

"I don't think Foster had to do much once Travis met you," I said, winking at her.

She stared at me and groaned. "Don't talk to me about that man. He's insufferable."

"Oh? Why do you say that?"

"I just think he has the biggest ego, you know?"

"I guess so." I laughed. "I didn't really get to speak to him that much."

"So Foster is staying in the country as well, huh?"

"Yeah." I lowered my voice and looked around. "About that."

"I know," she said quickly. "Rosalie doesn't know. Don't worry, I won't say anything in front of her."

"Thanks," I said, nodding. "I feel really guilty about telling you in the first place, but I just needed someone to talk it through with."
