"Miss Malone, do you mind stepping out of the room with me for a second so we can have a quick talk?" Travis said. Without waiting for her to respond, he marched out of the room.

"Oh shit. I might get fired right now," Molly said, looking at me.

I squeezed her hand. "Good luck, girl."

"Thank you." I watched as she got up and headed toward the door. I looked over at Foster, who raised an eyebrow at me. I shrugged slightly, and he frowned.

"Um, let's go ahead and take another fifteen-minute break, everyone," Foster said. "Hi. Alice, can I talk to you for a couple of seconds?" I nodded and headed over to him. "What is going on with Molly and Travis?" he said in hushed tones.

"I don't know. I think she's nervous, and he makes her uncomfortable and awkward, and... I don't know. I hope she doesn't get fired."

"Well, she's really not impressing right now," he said, shaking his head. "This is a professional environment."

"I know. You don't have to tell me that." I glared at him.

"Hey, don't be mad at me because your friend—”

"Really, Foster?"

"What?" He pressed his lips together.

"I know you're not going to start lecturing me at work. I haven't even officially started yet."

"I know." He grinned. "And I have something to tell you."

"Yeah?"

"So I spoke to HR."

"Okay."

"And I asked them about dating in the workplace."

"Okay."

"And I asked them about dating an insubordinate."

"Oh my gosh. I'll be your insubordinate?" I made a face.

"Yes, you will. They said if the relationship was established before you start, then it is okay. But both people will need to speak to HR and confirm on the first day of work that they are in a relationship and it's serious and that they're not concerned about sexual harassment."

"Oh," I said. I paused. "I don't know if I can do that."

"What do you mean?" he said.

"Well, I don't know if I'm concerned about sexual harassment. What if you ask me to bend over the desk while you spank me?"

"What?" he said. "Are you really concerned about that?" He looked nervous.

"No." I laughed. "In fact, I almost want you to promise that you’ll do it."

"Really, Alice?"

"Really," I said softly. "If we weren't in this conference room right now, I would basically be bending over the desk asking you to take me."

"Really?" he said, his eyes widening.

"Yeah."
