I looked up to see a tall, slightly older gentleman with curious green eyes staring at me.

“This is my assistant Molly, Molly Malone. She’ll be taking notes today.”

“And it’s nice to meet you, Molly. My name is Columbus. Columbus Campo.”

“Well, nice to meet you, Mr. Campo.”

“And you too. You must be a very intelligent lady if you’re working for Travis Covington.”

“Well, I like to think so.”

“And how long have you been in the finance world?”

I stared at him for a couple of seconds and then looked at Travis.

“Oh, Columbus. Don’t put her on the spot. She doesn’t want to have to boast to prove herself to you!”

Travis moved over to the side of the room.

“Is it possible that we can get some coffee? We just got off the flight and we need to re-energize before the meeting.”

“Of course. Of course. Louisa!” Columbus called out, and I saw a skinny young girl running toward him.

“Yes. Papa. I mean, yes, sir,” she said quickly.

He frowned slightly.

“We need some coffee and some snacks. I don’t see any in the room?”

“Oh, they’ll be right up. Catering was a little late.”

“Okay, well, please make sure they come up as quickly as possible.”

“Yes, sir,” she said quickly and backed out of the room.

Columbus looked over at Travis.

“Nepotism, eh?” He shook his head.

“That’s your daughter?” Travis said, looking behind him at Louise’s disappearing figure.

“Yes, my youngest. She wants to get into business. I told her, you start at the bottom, and you work your way up. So far, it’s not so good.” He shrugged. “It’s a good thing I’ve got three sons as well, eh?” He started laughing, and Travis nodded.

I was kind of annoyed at his comment but didn’t say anything. It wasn’t my place.

“And the rest will be with us in just a few moments,” Columbus said. “Will you not have a seat?”

“Thank you.”

Travis walked toward the conference table and pulled out one of the chairs. “Sit here, Molly.”

“Thank you,” I said as I took a seat.

He pushed it in and then sat down next to me.

“So Columbus Compo, he is the CEO of several large companies in Brazil. He is interested in starting a retirement plan for his top-level executives. And we are here to…”

The door opened, and he paused. He looked up. “I’ll explain the rest to you in a little bit,” he said. “Hello. So good to see you, Eagle!”
