“What’s that?”

“You go out with me to dinner tonight, and I won’t tell your dad I saw you.”

“Matthew.” I shook my head. “Really?”

“What? You’re looking absolutely stunning, Molly. And well, I’ve always thought you were the one who got away.”

Travis cleared his throat.

“Maybe we should save the personal talk for later?” His voice was sharp. “But we do have business to get to. I have two other meetings this afternoon, and, well, I don’t want this one to run too long.”

“Of course,” Eagle said. “Matthew? Shall we take a seat?”

“Sure.” Matthew looked at me. “Think about it. Molly, you’ve still got the same number?”

I nodded.

“Good. We’ll link up later.”

“I don’t think Molly will have time for that,” Travis said. “But maybe some other time.”

Matthew grinned at him.

“Oh, you can’t expect to work her all through the night, can you? Maybe we can grab milkshakes or something later. I know how much you love…”

Travis cleared his throat and looked at me.

“So you’ve always been a fan of milkshakes?”

“No,” I said, glaring at him.

“Oh, just my milkshake?”

Matthew frowned now. “Sorry, what?”

“Nothing, nothing,” Travis said. “Let’s sit.”

We sat at the table again, and I felt Travis’s hand on my knee, squeezing hard.

“Ow!” I said under my breath, looking at him. “What’s that for?”

“I told you that you’re not to sleep with anyone else while we’re in this arrangement.”

“And I’m not sleeping with anyone else,” I said through gritted teeth.

“Well, I just want to remind you of that fact since it seems Matthew wants to rekindle things,” he said, glaring at me.

“You don’t even know what you’re talking about. Thank you very much.”

“Really?” he said. “He didn’t just ask you to go to dinner? And then when I said you can’t, he brought up milkshakes.”

“Um, yeah, because everyone knows I love milkshakes.”

“Everyone?” he said, raising his eyebrow.

“Not that sort of milkshake, you jackass!”

He let out a deep sigh, his lips thin.
