“It’s a pirate saying for like…peace?” Ro shakes his head.
“You could have had a kid with anyone in the world and you chose him? We have good DNA and you muddied that with his.”
“Hey!”
“Asshole.” Both Callie and Cole say in unison as I laugh and wrap my arms around Jess and tug her back against my chest.
“You should be thanking me.”
“Why in Gods good name should I thank you? You’re a fucking cradle snatcher!” I bite my lip to stop myself from laughing.
“Dear lord, if you reply with something about having a big penis I will hurl.” I glare at my sister.
“I do have a big dick!” I retort, I don’t miss the snort that comes from Jess and my mom. “Laugh all you want princess, but I wasn’t the one who asked,‘did it grow?’or‘will that thing fit?’” Jess pulls out of my hold and turns to slap me on my chest and storms off to stand with my parents, Sky and Callie.
“I swear I raised him better than that, I blame his father for his huge ego.” My mouth drops open in shock as I stare at my mom. I glare at my brother and dad when they begin to laugh uncontrollably.
“Wasn’t that funny.” I mutter as I glare at my mom.
“Sorry to keep you all waiting.” I spin around to find Davina, Vince and another guy standing there. The stench of rotting flesh fills my senses and I have to stop myself from gagging. I take deep breaths in through my mouth. “I see that you have––“
“Eww, something stinky.” All eyes turn toward Harlem, the vamps remain silent while the wolves try to hide their laughter. Clearly Harlem has the nose of a shifter already and that makes pride swell inside me. My laughter dies in my throat when Davina moves forward toward Cairo and Harlem, I step in front of her blocking her path.
“You stay the hell away from my son.” Hurt flashes in her gaze before she quickly masks it, she gives me a stiff nod then steps back by her men.
“Why are we here Davina?” Dad asks, I see Shelley and Dela move from the corner of my eye and come to stand by Davina. I move back until I’m shoulder to shoulder with my dad.
“Because I just got word Jacob tracked your scent to the seaside.”
“How?” Her eyes dart to me as she answers.
“I assume he followed your scent until it disappeared and decided to keep going and see where it led? I honestly don’t know; I guess he gathers you all fled by boat. With all that being said, it is not safe being where you are so I’m inviting you all to reside on the island with us.” She has to be joking, right? There is no way in hell I will stay on this island with her and her minions.
“That’s very kind of you, we appreciate it.” I spin around and stare at my traitor of a mate. She must have lost her goddamn mind; either that or I fucked the sense out of her.
“Jess is right, tension on the boat is ramping up and we don’t have the supplies we need. We also don’t have the facilities for everyone to use, it’s our best option.” I throw my hands in the air, Shelley has lost the freaking plot as well.
“I’ll have my men arrange adequate accommodations for you all. Everything should be set for you by morning––“
“How can you stand out in the sun?” Fucking hell, that’s seriously all Cole can think about right now?
“Vampires are not like what you see in movies, we don’t burn in the daylight.”
“Well, I guess you’ll have to tell us all about that and what your weaknesses are and how to kill you.” Callie chokes on air at our brother’s comment.
“Colton, that’s rude.”
“It’s fine Meg––“
“With all due respect Davina, don’t butt in when I’m speaking tomyson. I will handlemychildren the way I see fit. Now, thank you for allowing us to stay here but my children and I will be getting back, my grandson is hungry.”

Mom just served Davina a can of ass whooping on a silver platter. Everyone is staring at mom like she is some strange being, she nods her head and leaves–– we all follow like sheep.
We’re all sitting around the table that Jess and I fucked on, I glance over at Jess, and she blushes. A smile stretches across my face at the memories of her body and what it felt like to be inside her. Shit, now I’m hard as a fucking rock.
“This is the best option for us, all our wolves are restless, and we need to shift.”
