“Nothing, I was just out here organizing for a team to go ahead of us on one of the speed boats.” I make sure to keep the shock from my face.
“Why?” She rolls her eyes and puts her hands on her hips.
“Because I refuse to go in blind, I want to make sure what Belle said is true before my grands–– people walk into a trap.” I ignore the fact that she was about to saygrandson, I hate to admit it, but her plan is a good one.
“If you need men, I’m happy to send some of mine with yours.” She shakes her head.
“No need, Cairo has offered to send some of his with Vince and the others.”

I close the link between us and focus on Davina. “If it’s all the same I will send two of men with yours, they know the land better than any of the others.”
“Very well, they will leave at first light tomorrow morning.” I don’t bother to say anything else; I turn around and go in search of my mate.

“I wanna see grandma.” I blow out a breath but agree, I may talk a big game but when it concerns my son, I can’t seem to find the balls to saynoto anything he wants. We manage to find my mom on the lookout of the boat, Harlem started to shake on the way up the stairs, so I opted to give him a piggy-back ride instead. I think I just found out something new about my son, he is afraid of heights. “Grandma look, I big.” My mom spins around with a broad smile on her face when she spots us, beside her is Connie and George. They both bow their heads in a show of respect, I nod and focus back on my mom.
“You are so big, look how tall you are!” The way my mom can act shocked and surprised on que is a skill in itself. She reaches around and plucks my giggling son from my back.
“Now I not big.” Mom frowns and places Harlem on his feet then kneels down in front of him and clasps each of his hands in hers. I watch their interaction in fascination and honestly, in the hopes of learning something.
“Don’t be in a rush to grow up sweetie, you will be big and strong like your daddy in no time, but you will also be brave and fearless like your mommy. But for right now, let’s just enjoy you being a fearless, strong willed and loving little monster.” She ends it with tickling his sides and he squeals in delight; I smile and get lost in watching my mom and son play. My attention is snagged when I hear squeals and hoots coming from below, I peer over the railing and spot a…pool! Fucking hell, how did I not know there was a pool? Another peel of laughter has me snapping my gaze to the two guys in the pool with girls on each of their shoulders, I laugh but the laughter dies in my throat when I zero in closer to who they are. One of the guys is Cairo with Callie on his shoulders and the other is Zeke with…Fuck! I spin around and race down the stairs leaving Harlem behind with my mom, anger is radiating off me. People hustle out of the way, one thing about being a shifter is you can sense and smell the rage of another, so everyone in this vicinity knows now is not the time to fuck with me. As I round the corner I slam to a stop, Cole is now in the water with Sky on his shoulders. I turn to Jess and see that the bikini she has on barely covers her tits, I growl and storm over to the edge of the pool. None of them notice me for a minute and continue to laugh and try push each other off their perch on the guy’s shoulders. Cole and Sky are the first to spot me and both the smiles on their faces die when they see the look on my face.
“Come on Callie, that all you got?”
“You’re going down Hastings.” Jess laughs and reaches out with her arms to push Callie off but then spins her head to the side and the smile on her face drops when she sees me. Due to her being distracted by me she doesn’t have time to dodge my sisters attack as she is shoved from Zeke’s Shoulders. Zeke spins around and grips her hips to help her up, Jess being the smart cookie that she is, as soon as she breaks through the water again, she tries to step out of Zeke’s hold, but he won’t let her. Her gaze snaps to me and he follows her, a frown mars his face.
“Unless you want to lose those fucking hands you will take them off her now!” The carefree look Jess had is gone and I see some of the happiness in her eyes dim.
“Dude, there is a pool table over there, go and play a game with Kyle. If you can’t find a cue just pull the one out of your ass and use that.” I glare at Cole and open my mouth to reply but Jess beats me to it.
“It’s okay, I should go anyway––“
“Nah, fuck that. Get lost Reeves, my sister was having fun and you ruined it.” I recoil internally, fuck! I keep fucking things up and I don’t want to treat her like a possession, so I think on my feet and do something I would never normally do, I grip the bottom of my shirt and pull it off, I don’t miss the way Jess’s eyes double in size. I kick off my shoes and dive in jeans and all, I make sure to surface right between Jess and Zeke. I focus all my attention on her as I push my hair back out of my face.
“Dick.” I ignore Zeke and smile at Jess as I grip her hips and pull her flush against me, she reaches up and wraps her arms around my neck. I move my hands to cup her ass but frown when I feel skin instead of the material of her bottoms. I peer over her shoulder and… fuck me sideways. She is wearing a G-string!
“Princess.” I growl out, she at least has the courtesy to look semi sheepish.
“They are called bikinis, don’t freak out…please.” I squeeze the globes of her ass and relish in the gasp it elicits from her.
“You can wear those tonight––.”
“Those areoursisters swimmers dick face.” I release Jess and jump backward like she burnt me; everyone laughs including Jess.
“On second thought, burn them and anything else she has given you.” My head snaps forward and I turn to glare at the little shit I share blood with.
“I will have you know, Sky looooves everything I wear––.” I strike out and cover her mouth with my hand, when I hear Sky laugh, I pin her with a dirty look.
