“What happened to her?” Cole answers Creed before I can.
“If you can’t smell the sex in the air then you my brother are losing your touch.”
“Shut the fuck up Colton!” I snap, just because I don’t want to claim her doesn’t mean he can demean her.
“Dude, I wasn’t being an ass, I was stating the obvious.”
“Which is?” I grit out.
“That maybe by you two fucking, her emotions went into overload and put her to…sleep?” Creed releases a long sigh before shifting his gaze to me, quirking a brow.
“Yes, we did fuck but she was fine, and then shit got heated and––.”
“What did you do?” I throw my hands up in the air, of course Creed would think this is all my fault. I should have just called Z.
“I touched her while I was ragging, and I think I sparked a vision.”
“How long has she been out?” I drop my gaze from his to stare down at Belle, she doesn’t look like she is in pain, I could fool myself into thinking she’s sleeping.
“Couple of hours, but she keeps moaning like she’s in pain and I––.”
“Can’t take seeing your mate in pain?” I sigh softly and nod as I stroke her cheek with my fingers, why does shit have to be so complicated? I always wanted to find my mate in the hopes that the feelings I have for Sky would vanish, and over time they have dwindled, but I’ll always be loyal to her. I made her a promise many years ago, when she gave me my freedom, that I would always fight to protect her, and so far, I have done a shit job. “I can scent you on her, but Corbin can tell she is unmarked, why?” There’s the question that I don’t want to answer.
“Heads up, someone’s coming.” I don’t question Cole as I slide off the bed and place Belle’s head gently on a pillow and stand at the end of the bed when I hear a door open, Creed and Cole flank me either side to hide Belle. I scent the air and then relax; a second later Sky comes into view with a face like a smacked ass.
“What’s wrong?” Sky and I are so in tuned with each other that we just know something is wrong from a single look. She meets my gaze as she answers me.
“You have about 3 minutes before Davina bursts through that door, you need to sort this shit with her Ro. If you don’t put her in her place, I will be forced to do it for you.”
“You will stay the fuck out of it, I told you no more after Jess––.” She throws her hands in the air and growls, if she were a shifter, I’m sure it would sound menacing.
“Fuck you Cairo! I did it twice since your sister, just so you could have your mate at my own cost, do not lecture me.” Consider me thoroughly chastised, she isn’t wrong, she is the reason Belle is able to be around people and I haven’t thanked her or thought of what the cost might be for her. “Sort this shit Cairo, I mean it. You have till morning to tell everyone because I’m telling California tonight.”
“Wait, what the fuck is going on?”
“Nothing.” I snap at Creed; the fucker turns on me and grips my throat, his eyes flick to his wolf’s and I smile.
“If you have done anything to hurt my fucking sister, I will end you.” I Tsk him.
“How will you explain that tomysister?” It isn’t Creed that answers me though.
“Consider, said sister informed.” Creed and I both turn to see Jess and Z standing behind Sky. “If you have done anything to put my best friend in harm’s way Ro, I will cut your balls off.”
“As entertaining as this is, we have incoming in about 45 seconds.” I smack Creed’s arm away and hold Zeke’s gaze.
“Stall her for as long as you can, she can’t get near Belle.” I dismiss all of them as I move to the side of the bed and pull my phone out, I hit dial on Cass’s number, it rings twice before he answers.
“Who the hell is this?”“If you three want your sister safe, follow the path to the east of the house and trail mine and her scent here. You have 30 seconds to be here Cassius.” I hang up and toss the phone on the bed, I turn to the others and nod my head at Sky. “Go with Z and hold Davina off, let Cass and the others in but that’s it.” I turn to Cole next. “Help the four of them out of here, meet me at the summit peak where Jess ran.” He opens his mouth, but I cut him off. “Anything happens to her Colton; I’m coming for you.” I make sure Bex is risen so Cole can see him in my eyes, he drops his gaze after a second and nods. I turn to my sister and Creed next. “I fucked up badly, I need your help to distract Davina until Belle and her brothers are gone.”
“What the fuck are you hiding?” I scoff at the audacity of Creed.
“Your one to fucking talkMr. I never lied to my mate. I’m doing this to protect her, you have no idea what the fuck she is and who Alexander is to her––.”
“And you do?” Creed snaps back at me.
“Actually, yeah.”
