“We thought you got it Belle, we had no idea you didn’t put two and two together yet.” On top of feeling betrayed I now feel stupid, how did I let this go over my head? I mentally facepalm myself, I got so distracted by Cairo, that I didn’t even think on the matter much.

“You’re half.” I face Alexander, he smiles tenderly and some of my anger abates. I run my eyes over him and that’s when I see the blood-soaked shirt and how he has his hand clutched to his stomach, trying to stop the flow of blood.

“You’re bleeding.” I state even though it’s bloody obvious. The other man Vince and Zeke help him over to the couch and lay him down, Creed and Cole chat with them but all I hear is white noise as my brothers and Cairo surround me.

“If this is too much we can leave.” I shake my head and Cairo releases a relieved sigh. “I’m sorry Belle, we should have said something but shit just…spiraled and I guess we just didn’t care. We see you as our sister and that’s it.” Hunter’s words have tears gathering in my eyes and I quickly blink them away.

“I’m sorry beauty, I never thought to tell you.” I look to Cairo.

“Am I even a wolf?” He smiles sadly.

“Yeah babe, your half shifter and half vampire, but I swear that is all I know about your heritage.” I believe him, I thank each of them and push through so I can go to Alexander, I have need to hear the truth from him and find out what the hell I am and why he gave me up. Sky told me a small amount about him and so has Ro, but the man is still an enigma to me. Cole and Creed have his shirt open, and the slice down his abdomen looks severe, my knowledge of vampires is very minimal, I assumed that they didn’t bleed because ya know––they’re already dead! I take a few calming breaths, Cole rushes away to grab some towels, Vince and Z block my view of Alexander’s face. I catch Callie’s eyes on me, but I just stand here, numb. Cairo approaches me and grips my hand, I turn my head to look at him, he smiles comfortingly, and I appreciate his support.

“Vince, why the hell are you here?” Creed asks as he grabs one of the towels from Cole and applies pressure to the wound.

“Because your mother has turned.”

“What the hell does that mean?” Cole snaps. Vince doesn’t answer as Callie cuts him off.

“Dear old mom decided to work with the council and wants Belle for some reason, and they agreed to help, right?” To say I’m taken back by her words is an understatement, Vince meets her gaze and the sorrowful look he gives her is answer enough.

“No, she was changing and doing good.” Vince places a blood-soaked hand on Creed’s shoulder trying to comfort him, but Creed shakes him off with a growl.

“She isn’t who you think she is.”

“How the fuck would you know Vince? You think because you were fucking her that you know better than me?” Vince glowers at Creed.

“He knows she is a traitor because I planted him with her.” My eyes bulge at Alexanders whispered words, Zeke whistles and it is the only sound for a beat before Cole snaps.

“I fucking knew she was a good for nothing bitch!” Creed lashes out and shoves Cole, he stumbles backward toward me, but Cairo is fast to react. He hauls me behind him and steadies Cole before growling at Creed.

“I get your pissed, but if you hurt my mate or my kid in anyway––.”

“You’re pregnant?” Silence, I’m ever so thankful for the fact Cairo’s hulking form is blocking me from Alexander’s view. I meet Vince’s gaze over Cairo’s shoulder, and I’m weirded out at the fact that he is smiling wide. I wrap my arms around my stomach protectively, I don’t know why I feel so insecure about him knowing I’m with child. I haven’t even told mydad.I don’t care what anyone says, Gabriel Wilder is my dad, and that is the end of it.

“That’s none of your business.” Blake snarls.

“If she is pregnant, then yeah it actually is my business.” Alexander’s voice waivers, clearly the pain is getting to be too much.

“Let’s deal with this later, right now we have to figure out how to stop the bleeding and then we deal with getting your beta back.” At the mention of Sky, Z and Cairo offer their help and assist Creed and Cole.

You learn something new every day, apparently vampire blood can heal you except with Alexander being anoriginalvampire it doesn’t work on him. Unfortunately for us there is no pack doctor here, they have managed to stop the bleeding. Zeke and Cole went to the store earlier to get some supplies to stich Alexander’s wound, I couldn’t stomach the sight and even being a supernatural, he wasn’t immune to the pain of it and screamed for a bit until he passed out. It took, Cairo, Cole, Zeke, Cass and Vince to hold him down, while Creed stitched and bandaged his wound. He’s still currently passed out and it’s nearly evening, Cairo has been pacing nonstop, anxiously waiting for him to wake up so he can grill him for answers. Cole, Callie, Blake and Zeke decided they couldn’t just do nothing, so they left an hour ago to scout out the area in hopes of catching a scent. Creed ordered them to remain in wolf form in case the council has spies out and spotted them, clever thinking on his part.

Cass, Hunter and I are all sitting on one of the couches, Creed occupies one of the single seats and Vince is just leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. He is a handsome looking man, Caramel eyes, light brown hair and his teeth are perfectly white and straight. I also noticed he has an accent which is pretty cool, Alexander has one too, but I can’t place his. The silence is suffocating, so I decide to break it.

“How do you know Alexander?” Vince’s kind eyes soften as they land on me.

“Ah, that one is a tricky question to answer.” I roll my eyes.

“Make it not tricky then.” He smirks.

“I see you got his no-bullshit attitude.” I squirm at his assumption.

“I’m nothing like him, his DNA may flow through me, but that is where our similarities end.” Vince nods, then darts his gaze to Alexander before returning it to me, I can see he is torn between telling me something or not, so I push. “Just say whatever it is.” I can feel the others staring at us, but I keep my focus on Vince, this guy knows something.

“You sure you don’t want to hear this from him?” I quirk a brow at him, and he chuckles. “Guess not.” He sighs and runs a hand through his hair before looking to Creed and then Cairo who has now stopped pacing and is paying attention to the conversation. “I lied to you all back on the island.”

“About?” Creed’s tone is stern.
