“I’m special and not like any of those other girls.” She turned toward Isabelle again. “And she’s just the same as them! Look at her!” She was now raising her voice louder and louder in anger.

“You never knew the others.” I shook my head, annoyed at the headache she was giving me.

It was in that moment she made a mistake that would indeed cost her. She directly addressed my fiancée again. She took a step forward, then stopped when Noah drew his gun on her. Tilting her head, she laughed, peering around him and glared at Isabelle. “Did he fuck you inhisbed too, like he did me?”

“Take her to the tunnel.”

Joseph marched over and grabbed her by the elbow. I glanced toward William, who understood the look I flashed him, and followed. Lindsay cried and begged for her life on the way out of the room, but I had seen and heard enough.

The minute the door closed, Isabelle stepped around Noah and threw herself into my arms, holding me tightly around my waist. Noah’s eyes stared toward the door as if he longed to go after them. I was certain if I had given him the signal of approval, he would have put a bullet between Lindsay’s eyes right then. At this point, I just wanted her to pay for making Isabelle look awful to the public and speaking to her the way she did. And she would suffer.

Isabelle peered up at me with watery eyes after a few moments. Her gaze filled with questions, and I knew she was wondering what was about to happen to Lindsay. I smiled down at her, processing what I knew was running through her mind,or so I thought. An evil grin spread across her face with the same enthusiasm she displayed at Niagara Falls when she wanted to cut lunch short and run to kill her uncle.

“Isabelle.” A low laugh rumbled in my throat.

“Are you going to kill her?” She asked.

Noah’s eyes quickly rolled toward me. “Someone needs to.”

Isabelle backed away from me and her gaze darted back and forth between us. “I know I shouldn’t be wishing death on anyone.”

Just then, Helen came bursting through the office door, panting. Noah jerked around to face her. Isabelle grabbed me, yanking me close to her.

“Helen?” I arched a brow.

“Sir.” She bent over, gripping her knees, trying to catch her breath. “I’m so sorry I didn’t knock, but I was just trying to tidy up Miss Baxter’s room and—” Panting, she closed her eyes for moment before meeting our gazes. “Have you seen Miss Baxter’s bedroom?”

I shook my head, taking a small step toward her. “What the fuck is going on?”

Finally, she stood straight and placed her hand on her chest. “I think you and Miss Ayala should come see.”

Noah rushed out of the office before us, sprinted down the hallway, and up the stairs with me following closely behind him. Isabelle and Helen were not too far behind, but Isabelle kept Helen’s pace to make sure she was okay.

“Holy shit.” Noah froze in his tracks when entered Lindsay’s bedroom.

The moment I stepped through the door, my eyes widened. “Oh my God!”

Marching to the center of the room, Noah scanned one wall. There were photos of me everywhere, covering different areas. Stacks of papers were strewn over her dresser and the small writing desk in the corner with her laptop.

He marched over, sat in the chair, and typed strange codes into a search bar he brought up on her screen. About the time he got ready to show me what he had found, Isabelle came running through the door and halted.

I could not believe my eyes. My body was in shock, and I could not gain the courage to inch further in yet. Nausea swelled in the pit of my stomach as my eyes searched around. It was a Valentino shrine with photos of me taped to the glass of the dresser mirror. My face had been scribbled out and replaced with cut-outs of Lindsay’s. There were also photos of Valentino and me in frames on the bedside tables, but again, she replaced my face with hers. It just occurred to me that these framed photos had been taken from various rooms of the mansion. Due to the size of the house, it was impossible to notice them missing.

My eyes watered, thinking about her sleeping in our home with us under the roof, then being here while we were away. Doing God knows what all over our personal space! My skin crawled at the thought of her in our bedroom, but then I remembered he always kept that wing of the house locked for safety reasons.

He spun to me. His lips were moving, but I was in my own world, staring through him. “Isabelle!” He raised his voice a bit as he waltzed over and gripped my forearms.

Snapping out of my trance, I rapidly blinked a few times, peering up into his eyes. He ran his fingertips up and down my arms.

“I—” I tried to speak, but nothing was coming to the surface.

He nodded. “Noah found some things on her computer, and I need to go handle this immediately.”

“Right.” Still, I was dazed, but managed to nod in acknowledgement.

He pressed a small kiss on my forehead, then pulled me into his body, wrapping his arms around my waist. I buried my head into his chest as I snaked my arms around him, knowing what was about to happen. Mentally, I was preparing myself for the next move.

“Wait for me in the hall.” Valentino’s deep voice echoed through his chest as he addressed Noah.
