William glanced at me with severe concern, knowing I never messed with women this harshly. He fisted her hair and pulled her to her feet. She yelped in pain as she clasped her hands around his grip. Adjusting my posture, I took a deep, calming breath. I looked toward the ceiling praying for strength as I had never in my life put my hands on a woman this way; and I knew this would forever label me if anyone outside these walls found out.

I drew my fist back again and forced it into her side at a faster and harder speed. She groaned loudly, shouting in agony as the pain of my violent blow radiated through her entire body. She collapsed again, but William held her up.

I thought about what she blurted out in my office about my bed, and I froze for a moment. Isabelle was probably upstairs stewing over that statement. My eyes focused on Noah, and he cocked his head at me, wondering why I was staring at him. I flickered my eyes, then spun to face Lindsay.

“Why the hell did you tell my fiancée I fucked you in my bed?” I charged at her, anchoring myself directly in front of her, clenching my fists and rigid jaw.

“Because.” She twisted in William’s grip, trying to get loose, snickering. “I knew it would haunt her forever, even if she knew the truth.”

“I would have never fucked you in my room!”

William let her go and she screamed as loud as her lungs would carry, causing an echo through the hallway. My ears were ringing, but I pulled my fist back and plowed it directly into her face, cutting her scream short. She once again fell down, her head cracking loud on the solid floor.

“She’ll always have that,” she coughed and choked on her blood, “in the back of her mind now.” She raised her head to say something else, but I held my hand out toward Noah, who laid the gun in my palm. Gripping it tightly, I crouched over her.

“Why the fuck were you meeting with Felipe?” I lifted her chin with the muzzle.

“I found-d out who he was, and…w-wanted to bring himm to get her.”

I withdrew the gun and swiped it across her face, causing her head to bounce twice off the hard surface. “And you thought I would be with you if she was gone?!”

“Y-you,” she laid her face down on the blood-soaked cement, “belong…to m-me and I’ll do what I…have to d-do even…killing h—”

Running my fingers through my hair, I stood. How is this girl so stupid?I tightened my mouth, then turned to her trembling body. As much as I wanted to torture her, I had some sense of my morals left. Still, I buried my boot into her rib cage, giving her one last painful blow. She screamed in terror, shrieking for help.

Noah, who had been a statue, watching everything unfold, was getting a glimpse into who I was. He whispered something to me, but—

BANG!

A loud sound rang out, causing Noah and I to both drop and cover our ears. I pivoted around and peered up at William, who was pointing his second gun at Lindsay. Blood pooled around her body as she lay lifeless on the floor. My temples throbbed. I pushed my fingers in my ears and applied as much pressure as possible, hoping to stop the vibration and shrill tone traveling through my head.

“I thought you had a fucking headache!” I shouted over my deafness.

Bending over, he laid the gun on the floor, then marched down the long corridor without a word. Joseph, Noah, and I exchanged glances. I jerked my head toward Joseph. He nodded as I took after my best friend, leaving the others behind to clean the mess.

The doors to the elevator were just sliding together when I slammed my hand between them, stopping them. I jumped in, allowing them to close after. I wiggled my fingers in my ears, trying to open them up somehow, but nothing was working.

“What was that?” I was sure I shouted my question.

Scowling, he shook his head and got his phone from his pocket. Pulling up a noteapp on his phone, he typed for a moment, then flipped the screen around.

If you had actually killed her, you would’ve never forgiven yourself for killing a woman, so I did it to save you.

I rolled my eyes. The doors opened, and I stormed out. Marching to the bathroom next to my office, I washed my hands and face with anti-bacterial soap. The minute I finished, I left him to do the same and hurried to my office, slamming the door behind me. I grabbed my head as the sound of the door shutting sent another shooting pain through my body.

Fuck!I stomped to my desk and took out a pack of cigarettes, then threw the back door open. Stepping outside, I lit one up and took long, aggressive drags before William showed up next to me to do the same thing.

Silently, we both smoked several cigarettes before the ringing began to finally subside and I could hear once again. Though I knew he was probably right, I was still angry he felt the need to handle something I would have.

“I need to go shower.” I turned toward the exterior light and glanced down at my body, seeing the splattered blood.

Approximately two hours had gone by since Valentino told me he was going to handle Lindsay in the basement. Laura and I had been distracted with wedding planning, so I was able to keep my mind off what was going on for the time being.

She had found the perfect band for us, and I was so distracted listening to their songs when Valentino and Noah came into the family room. Valentino’s hair was wet. He was wearing light-blue jeans, and a black V-neck T-shirt, so I knew it was done and he had showered.

“Hey you two.” He greeted us as if nothing had happened while he made his way over to me. Sitting on the couch, he crossed his leg over his knee and put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer.

“How’s your night?” Laura wiggled her brows up and down, giggling.
