“Amazingnews, guys, you’vewon a BRIT award for Best Group. They want you to appear live and sing a song from the new album. It’s short notice, but we can make it happen. Fly back to London, attend the event, and then an overnight flight back so you don’t miss any of the tour. What do you reckon?” Addi asked us all over breakfast.

“Hell yeah. I’m in as long as we can get a Nandos while we’re there. I need a Nandos,” Frankie cried.

“They have Nandos in other countries, you know, Frankie.”

“It tastes weird. I need a London Nandos with hot sauce that sets my mouth on fire.”

“Boys? You up for it?” Addi turned her attention to us, her eyebrows raised as she waited for our answers.

“Yeah, it will be good to go home. Even if it’s only for a few hours,” Mav declared. “Can we catch up with Mum and Dad while we’re there?”

“We won’t be there for that long, but I can get them seats at your table for the night. Sound good?”

“Sounds perfect,” Mav declared, pulling Addi in for a brief hug, before she pushed him off her, shaking her head at him.

“What about Emmy. I want her there, but you added the ‘can’t be seen with us’ clause in her contract,” I questioned, suddenly worried I’d have to leave her in the hotel while we went to the awards.

“Tanner, Emmy will be there. Dressed a bit differently. Not to hide her from the world, but to keep her anonymous and safe. I don’t want her getting hurt again, do you?” Addi asked, taking a bite of the toast she was eating.

“Fuck no, but she’s good to come, yes?” I watched her swallow down her breakfast before she replied. I grinned at myself, realizing that this would be the perfect time to introduce Emmy to Lori and Phil.

“Yes. Always. I know how you feel about her, and she’s part of the team. Right, now we’ve sorted that, you guys have a date at the recording studio.”

“And that’s a wrap. You sounded amazing. Why don’t you come through and listen?” the guy in the booth announced.

So we did.

“Ready? This ison the other side. Lyrics by me!” Frankie squealed as we huddled around her, listening to the melodies curve around us like gigantic waves of emotion.

“Fuck, that’s good,” Mav whispered as we listened. “You did good, sis. Really good.”

“Let’s get Addi to listen. I want to know what she thinks and then maybe we could play it at the BRITS,” Frankie suggested nervously.

I pulled out my phone to call Addison, while Frankie asked the sound engineer to restart the song.

After a few minutes, we heard Addi’s voice cracking over the phone. “It’s so good. You made me cry, you fuckers. I’m just glad there’s no one here to see me. You playing it at the BRITS?”

“That’s what we were thinking,” I replied, beaming proudly at my little sister.

“Hell yes,” Addi agreed. “But keep it under wraps. We still don’t know if our mole is paying attention.”

“Okay, we’re just finishing up, so we’ll be back within the hour,” Frankie said, leaning into Gray as the sound engineer fiddled with the buttons to finalize the recording, so we had a finished version to take with us.

“Let’s have dinner to celebrate. I’ll sort something.”

“Hell, yeah, I’m starving,” Frankie announced, making us all laugh because that girl was always hungry.

Addi stood in front of us, clipboard in hand, like a school teacher trying to wrangle a class of wayward kids out of the door for a school excursion. “Right, has everyone got their outfits and something to put on to travel back in? Blankets, special pillows, laptops, voice steamers, and whatever else you divas desire to be at your best tonight? We have a couple of hours at the hotel to get ready, and we will head straight back to the plane at the end of the event. We need to be back at the jet by 1 am so we can make our takeoff window. Okay, get your asses on board and find somewhere to make your own for the next few hours.”

The band, Emmy, Addi, Rylee, our security team, and five of Thomas’ best men boarded the plane so we could fly back to London for the awards and play Frankie’s new song. I slipped my hand into Emmy’s, leading her up the stairs with me, pushing her into one of the seats towards the back.

She gasped as she looked around at the private jet. “Look at this thing. It’s amazing. Why are we not sitting with everyone else, Tanner?”

I paused in the aisle, tucking her hair behind her ear before leaning in, my lips brushing against her cheek. “Because I want you all to myself. I feel like I’ve hardly seen you, and I want to cover your lips in mine and kiss you until we land.”

Her body stiffened, and she sighed. “Okay, although your lips will be all swollen for your big award,” she replied, trying to hide her arousal from her words, but I knew her well enough now to hear the way her voice softened, and she squeezed her thighs together as she stared at me.

“I know. I’ll be the talk of the townagain.”
