“When I’m with the band, they expect me to be a certain way. I might not seem like me. But you know me. You get the real me. Please don’t forget that. I love you both.”

I looked at Ethan, who shrugged, and we watched him leave. Our rock star boyfriend.

Ethan

WeknewwhoGraywas and what he did, but Ivy and I didn’t watch a lot of TV, so I’d never really seen him play. Until today. And, wow, Cosmic Gods was the perfect name for them. Tanner stole the show. His voice, stage presence, and the way the crowd reacted to him. It was insane to watch. He was only twenty-five, but he seemed to hold the crowd in the palm of his hand for the two hour concert. Frankie was amazing on drums, and Maverick gave all the women something to smile about. But my eyes were fixed on Gray, still shocked that this Cosmic God on stage was the man who let me spank his ass and fuck him while he fucked my wife. My cock swelled at the very thought of it.

Ivy laughed as I pressed against her ass while we danced to their songs. “Like what you see, Eth?”

“You or him… yes, to both. Fuck, is he really ours?”

“Shush. Someone might hear,” she yelled over her shoulder at me.

“I think people are too busy offering to have their babies or throwing their panties at them to hear us declare our undying love.”

She turned, grinding her hips against me. “I think we needed this, Eth. Time away from real life. Some fun. Can we have some fun?”

“Princess, we can have so much fun. I promise. But you can’t fuck me in the audience of a Cosmic Gods gig. Mainly because if our man up there notices, he will be off the stage in no time, claiming his stake to you.”

“Claiming a stake to us.”

“Okay, to us. Although, actually, ride me because watching his reaction would be hot as hell.”

She leaped at me, wrapping her legs around my waist, kissing me hard as we listened to one of their new songs playing out in the background.

“I love you, Ivy.”

“I love you too, Eth.”

Suddenly, a shadow descended on us, and I looked over to see a huge man towering over us. I mean, Gray and I were big, but this man was something else—almost as wide as he was tall.

“Mr Tate?”

“Yes?” I yelled over the music.

He beckoned for us to follow him to just behind the stage. “Nice to see you again, Ivy. I hope you’re good. Ethan, I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Matt. Chief of security for the Gods. They only have one more song left, so he’s arranged for a car to take you to the hotel so you can catch up properly while you’re here on vacation. The driver has a key for his personal suite, so he asks that you meet him there. He has a quick post gig meeting with the band, but he should be there within the hour. Let me show you to the car.”

Shaking my head at the absurdity of it all, I followed this man outside and stepped inside a blacked out Escalade to drive us to the hotel.

“Fuck, princess, this is a lot. I mean, I knew who he was, but he’s always just been a normal person around us. I’ve never seen him in his real life.” I sat on the sofa in his suite, which was one of five that filled the penthouse of the hotel they were staying in. The room was huge with amazing views across LA, and I suddenly longed for the familiarity of our house and having them both safe in the cocoon we’d been used to.

“Are you okay?”

“I am, but he’s not just Gray anymore. He’s Gray from the Cosmic Gods.”

“He’s still just Grayson, Eth. Don’t let all this change the way you think about him. He’d hate that.”

“But I can kind of understand why he ran from us,” I replied, guilt hitting me hard. I’d never once thought about being part of this band really meant for him or our lives together. “This is a lot to live with, but even more, it’s a lot to lose. What if being with us makes him lose it? I mean, he’s right, what we have isn’t conventional, and he has the entire world judging him.”

I stood and turned around slowly, my hands pointing to the space we were standing in. “We are in a suite in a penthouse in probably the most expensive hotel in LA. He has security guards, a publicist, make-up artists, groupies, and the press chasing him everywhere. And then he has us. Two people, in a non-traditional relationship that could ruin what he has.”

The door slammed behind us and when I turned, he was stalking towards me, grabbing my face in his hands. “No, you fucking don’t get to do this to me. You don’t get to have cold feet. I couldn’t bear it. I’ve never lied about who I am or what I do for a living. I told you it was a lot.” Gray pressed his forehead to mine, dropping his hands as he closed his eyes. “You can take a minute to catch your breath and get used to it all, but you don’t get to give up on me… on us, because I’m rich or famous.” His eyes popped open, and he took a step backward, looking hurt and scared, his voice softening when he spoke. “You promised to love me for a lifetime. I can’t take it if the band ends all that.”

“Shit, I’m the worst. Sorry. I was just overwhelmed. You’ve gone from the man we share a bed with to a world famous rock star.”

Gray started pacing as he spoke. “I’ve always been a world famous rock star, Ethan. It just wasn’t something that was important when I was with you. It’s still not. Ivy’s right, I’m just me. Nothing has changed other than you’ve stepped into my world instead of us being in our bubble. This is how I live. This is what I have to deal with on a daily basis. I know it’s a lot. It’s why I’m such a fucking mess. It’s why I ended up with OCD, but I need to know it’s not a deal breaker for you.”

This time it was me that closed the space between us as I ran my fingers through my hair, sighing at how beautiful my rock star boyfriend looked right now. Fresh off stage—tussled, sweaty, dressed in skin tight jeans and a white vest top that he’d worn on stage, leather straps wrapped around his wrists and two large rings on his left hand. He was right when he’d told us that people expected a very different version of him than he gave us, but that was just his job and that was the way I needed to think about it. Not about the fame and the lifestyle, but that he played a part and with us, he was real. He gave us the genuine version of him. He let us see his fears and his desires; he trusted us with his secrets and heart, and right now, I thought I loved him even more than I’d done before. “It’s not a deal breaker, I promise. It was just a shock. Seeing you on stage, with the world throwing themselves at you, having all this security and staff around you. I mean, you live in a penthouse, for God’s sake.”
