“Are you quotingPretty Womanat me?”

“You made me watch that crap. I like to remember the things that make you smile.”

“You know it’ll be closed, right?” I said.

“I don’t care. I just want to see your face when we drive down it.”

“And the beach, Grayson. I want to stand in the moonlight with my feet in the sea.”

“You heard the people—Rodeo Drive, the beach, and somewhere I can get a burger or four because I’m starving.”

We drove along Rodeo drive and Ivy gasped at all the shops and I silently promised myself to bring her back tomorrow so I could buy her something stupidly expensive that she didn’t need but would make her smile. I also decided to find something perfect for Ethan as well. Just then an idea popped into my head, and I smiled, typing out a reminder on my phone because I was so hungry I wasn’t sure I’d even remember my own name right now.

“Food, people. I need food. I’ve been working all night and you’re starving me to look at shiny things.”

Ivy laughed. “Food, Grayson. We wouldn’t want to be responsible for killing a Cosmic God.”

I froze. In all the months I’d known them, even when Ivy had been with us for those two weeks, my place in the band hadn’t really been mentioned, but hearing it on her tongue felt wrong.

Noticing my reaction, Ethan opened his mouth to speak, but I held up my finger while I pushed the button to raise the privacy screen.

“Sorry, it’s not you two. We’ve had a mole spilling our secrets recently, so I wanted to be careful before we spoke.”

“We lived in a bubble for a month the first time, and for a few days last week, and it has been amazing. But you are Grayson Hill. You're the millionaire guitarist with the Cosmic Gods. You're known world-wide, you’re top of the charts in more than one country, tonight—I checked, because I wanted to be cool and wow you with how much I knew about the band. God, I’m not cool at all, am I?” Ethan laughed hard, planting a kiss on my temple, while I shook my head, laughing. “You played on stage in front of an audience of screaming fans who love you. You’re so much more than the beautiful man who stumbled into a video call I was having with my wife and blew our lives apart for the better. Maybe we need to say it out loud a few times to make it seem real.” Ethan's words made sense. My life was a lot, and they needed time to get used to it.

Ivy straddled my lap, kissing me slowly until I groaned.

“He’s right, Grayson. I spent two weeks on tour with you, so I know what it’s like, but it will take Ethan a while to get used to it. He just needs to get his head around the fact that being a Cosmic God is a huge part of who you are. We love you, whether you’re a rock star or not,” she whispered, so Ed and the driver couldn’t hear.

“It’s soundproofed. You could be back here blowing me while Ethan sticks his cock in my ass and they wouldn’t hear.” Ivy wiggled her eyebrows. “Fuck, no firefly. There will be boning of any kind until I eat something.”

“Okay, let’s feed you before you gethangry, and then we’re finding a beach.”

“Why don’t we get food and eat it at the beach? I’m sure Ed can find us the perfect place.”

I lowered the privacy screen. “Ed, could you find me somewhere to get a burger that we can eat near a beach, where we won’t be eaten by sharks or attacked by weird locals?”

“No pressure, Gray,” Ed replied.

“I know the perfect place, Gray. Drive through with good food and it’s just around the corner from the beach,” our driver announced.

“Thank you, Len.”

I pressed the button that raised the privacy screen again and wrapped my hands into theirs as we settled back for the drive.

An hour later, full of the burgers and fries we’d eaten, I led them down to the ocean. It was 3 am, so I wasn’t worried about photographers or nosy passers by. I lifted Ivy onto my back and ran into the water while she screamed at me to stop. I lowered her down into the shallow waves and she laughed.

“It’s pretty warm. Can we come back in the daytime?”

“Not here, but our hotel has a private beach. I’d love to take you, firefly. You not coming in, Ethan?”

“Fuck off. I don’t want to be stung by a jellyfish or eaten by a shark.”

“It’s a bit shallow for a shark. What, are you scared of water?”

“Nope, just of getting eaten by a shark.”

“He’s a total wuss around water.” Ivy laughed.
