“Don’t be a stranger,” Emily called as we left.

“Today just keeps getting weirder,” I said to Vorx and Turik. “Would either of you mind if we just go home and hole up for a while?”

Neither objected, and we were again cuddled on the couch fifteen minutes later. Instead of laying across them, I sat between them, leaning my head on Turik while idly holding Vorx’s hand and playing with his fingers.

One of them had picked a movie for us, but I wasn’t watching. I was thinking of what I’d learned today. First, Turik and Vorx were both okay with sharing me. Second, all the fey seemed to have a sex addiction. Third, the females here were okay with all of it. And the most important thing—everyone here seemed to know that Vorx and Turik were a package deal for some lucky lady.

Releasing Vorx, I reached out for the remote and paused the movie.

“When you first walked in that door, you asked what I was doing here,” I said, looking at Vorx. “If you two are so close, does that mean Turik didn’t talk this over with you before bringing me home? Are you settling for me because I’m willing and here?”

“No, Shelby. I was there too. I saw how afraid you were as you knelt beside your husband for hours, and I saw the shame in your eyes when you left. But you never wavered, and you never looked back. I knew Turik would try to win you, but I didn’t think you would leave your husband for us.

“When I saw you here, I needed to know why before I allowed myself to hope.”

“And Emily thinks you don’t have a sweet tongue.”

He smirked at me. “Would you like me to remind you how sweet my tongue is?”

I rolled my eyes at him even as anticipation curled inside of me.

“What I’d like to understand is why the two of you are a package deal. Don’t get me wrong; I like the attention I’m getting from both of you. But Emily’s right that you’re both equally amazing. If you’ve lived thousands of years, what’s a few more months of patience to wait for a woman for each of you? Wouldn’t you like to have some woman’s undivided attention, too?”

Turik and Vorx did that shared look thing again.

“I’m serious. Why share?”

“In those thousands of years, we died many times,” Turik said. “We learned from each other, and as we got stronger, we died less. Until it was many, many years since our last death.”

“Our world was dangerous,” Vorx said. “But we learned how to survive it. Together.”

“Then our dangers were unleashed on your world. A world filled with soft, beautiful females. Many died those first days. We see them every time we leave this place, and removing their heads brings us pain.” Turik put a hand over his heart to show where he hurt. “But it reminds us what will happen if we cannot protect our females.”

“We understand this world’s dangers,” Vorx said. “Eden almost died during the breach because Ghua was fighting too many infected alone. If Turik and I share a female, she will never be alone. We will fight together to protect you.”

The level of safety they were offering spoke to me on a profound level. I wanted that—ultimate protection from Nat, the infected, and hellhounds. And their method worked. Look at what had happened at the house. Vorx had focused on fighting the hellhound, and Turik had run with me. Without their teamwork, what would have happened?

I swallowed hard and looked down at my hands, hoping I would never have to find out.

“Okay,” I said finally. “I’ll stop questioning if this is real. I’ll stay. Forever. No changing your minds.

This is me accepting that you’re both choosing me, and I’m choosing both of you.”

They both made growling sounds of satisfaction. Turik picked up my hand and kissed the tip of each finger. Then Vorx stole that hand and lightly bit the pad of each finger. My stomach dipped, and a zing of pleasure lit through me.

“She likes biting,” Vorx murmured.

“No, she doesn’t,” I said.

“Shh,” Turik said, nuzzling my ear. “You do.”

He proved it by lightly nibbling on my earlobe.

My pulse sped at the sensation, and my lips parted. Vorx chuckled, watching my reaction to Turik’s attention. His calculated study made me nervous and a little needy.

“Let’s go back to watching our movie, okay?”

Vorx turned on the show, but Turik didn’t stop his slow assault on my ear. And I was enjoying it too much to turn away. Each scrape of his teeth added to the building pleasure, and I struggled to control my breathing. Slowly, he worked his way down along my jaw until he claimed my lips.
