My balls swell, even more, my shaft roaring out for her hand, her sweet slit. My shaft yells at me to drive up inside of her, all the way, to feel her pussy pulsing around me like she’s trying to massage my seed for me…like she wants it all too, a life worth fighting for.

“I don’t want to rush you,” I tell her. “And I don’t want to rush myself either.”

“Rush…what do you mean?”

I laugh gruffly, turning away slightly. “I’ve never told anybody this before. But I’m a virgin too, Della.”

She stares at me for a second, and then her lips go hard. Her eyes glisten. It’s worse than the first time I tried to kiss her.

“Right,” she says, striding for the door quickly, head ducked, fists bunched at her sides. “I get it. I see how it is.”

Before I can ask what she means, she’s gone.

The door slams behind her.

And I’m left staring.

CHAPTER11

Della

I sit at the back of the bus, my arms wrapped around my bag as though to defend myself.

All the memories from school, all the underhanded stuff Jess did.

It returns to me with violent force. Each bump in the road is like a nudge to my mind, making me think of the time she played an oh-so-funny prank that had me standing at the front of class, reading a report Jess wrote…a report in which she’d changed half the words, so it made no sense.

She knew I hated public speaking. She was grinning from the back of the class in this unique way.

Like she was telling me,You better take this as a joke, you better not challenge our status as friends.

I thought Eli was genuine…Elias, even, because there’s no point using a shortened version of his name, as though we actually had anything real to begin with.

I wanted to stay in college and get on with more work in the library, but Elias made that impossible. It was just so far-fetched, what he tried to make me believe….

He’sa virgin?

The man everybody wants. Over six feet tall, with the type of broody, intense looks that could land him on the cover of magazines all over the world.

That’s what he wanted me to believe: to simply nod my head and tell him yes. I’ll go along with it.

I’ll go along with anything until it results in my childhood home being burned down.

My phone vibrates in my pocket. It’s the second time.

The first was Hudson telling me he’s taking extra hours at the factory, so he won’t be there when I get home.

I wonder if this vibration is Elias. It’s tempting to ignore it, but I can still taste him on my lips. I can still feel him pressed against me, his manhood stiff against my belly.

He’s attracted to me. He didn’t fake that part.

Even if it shouldn’t – even if I should only be pissed, considering he just lied to my face – I can’t help but feel a shimmer at that thought.

He wants me, at least on a physical level.

I quickly take my phone from my pocket, an impulse that has my hand moving fast.

What just happened, Della?
