“I can’t hold on,” she says and comes apart, her body going slack and her pussy clenching and unclenching around my cock.

“Me too,” I growl and pump my release into her. I keep fucking her until I empty myself completely.

Ivy collapses to the side, taking me with her, and I spoon her and hold her close. I rest my hand on her belly.

“We should stop now until the baby is born.” My words sound hollow even to my own ears.

“Not going to happen. I love this too much. You’ve made me into a sex addict,” Ivy says amidst a yawn. “Besides, you of all people should know that medically, there’s nothing wrong with making love when a woman is pregnant.”

“I know, but it’s different when it’s your woman and your baby.”

In response, Ivy places her hand over mine, and we fall asleep that way.

“You’re glowing, sister, and it’s not from the pregnancy,” Molly says from across the table.

Molly and I are in a coffee house waiting for the wedding planner. She’s not late. Molly and I agreed to meet earlier to have some time to catch up. With her busy with school and her family, and I with Alec, it’s become nearly impossible for us to meet in person.

“Thank you. I’m really happy,” I tell her.

“I can’t believe you’re getting married. I have a confession to make,” Molly says. “I always imagined you would be single all your life.”

“Why?” I ask her with a laugh. “I believe in meeting your soul mate. I always have.”

“Yes, but your standards have always been very high. You had this image of the perfect man.”

“That wasn’t it. I never actually dated anyone who came close to being my soul mate. I thought I just had bad luck.”

“I’m just glad that you and Alec have found each other … and in the most unusual circumstances,” Molly says.

I giggle. “I disliked him on sight. I thought he was so arrogant.”

“Can you believe that I’ve never met Alec in person?”

“You haven’t?”

Molly laughs. “We’ve spoken on the phone so many times; it feels as if we’ve met.”

“We have to rectify that. Today would have been the perfect day, but he has a major surgery and an interview at a radio station after that.” I knew that the Andersons were a big deal in our city, but until I became close to Alec, I never knew just how much. One of the brothers is always on an interview or another, talking about the clinic or reproduction issues. I’ve come to learn that infertility is big business. A lot of couples deal with it, and there are not so many fertility clinics or rather few with a stellar reputation.

“How are the boys?” I ask her. “I’ve missed them.”

We catch up on our lives, and she tells me that she’s planning on taking the boys to Florida to visit their grandparents for a few days. “Jeff and I can take a mini-honeymoon while they are there,” she says, a twinkle in her eyes. “Seeing you so happy has made me look inward, too, and appreciate what Jeff and I have. I’m falling in love with my husband again.”

“That is so great,” I say, meaning every word. My sister and brother-in-law have always been what I believe soul mates should be.

She tells me about school and how much she’s enjoying it. She has a new lease on life.

“I’m so happy for you.”

“I’m happy for you too,” Molly says. “How’s the book going? Are you still writing?”

“I am. A funny thing has happened. With no publisher or agent hovering over me, the story is flowing. I’m enjoying writing again. I’m not in a hurry to find a publisher, to be honest. I’ll wait until the whole book is done. I told my agent to hold off searching for another publisher.”

“Makes sense. Some people thrive under pressure, and others don’t.”
