“I hope you’re hungry. I was trying to figure out what to get that would travel well and stay warm, but I just got home five minutes ago. It was wrapped up good.”

They were by her table now that was between the living room and kitchen. The space looked narrow, but he was assuming her bedroom was off the kitchen, as it looked as if the bathroom was off the dining room.

He saw the Fierce bag. “You got dinner at work? Smart.”

“It was convenient,” she said. “I’ve done it a few times before. No one would question anything with me picking up two meals because they know my mother lives downstairs.”

“I don’t want you worrying about those things,” he said.

She started to pull the containers out of the bag. “I’m not worried, but I know your aunt is sneaky. They are good at separating the food so it doesn’t get soggy too for takeout. I love how the fries are always crispy, which I’m guessing is why they don’t care about the extra containers and cost of it. I had to analyze that for Aiden and Ella.”

He laughed. “My cousins have their finger on every pulse. They would know it would cost more to use more containers, but if the food isn’t good people aren’t coming back anyway.”

“The food is always good,” she said. “But there isn’t anything worse than soggy takeout fries. I got two different things I know you like. We’ve talked about food enough so I’m hoping I took a good guess.”

She opened the containers and there was a chicken sandwich in one container and what looked to be a burger in the other.

“Both look great,” he said. “You take your pick.”

“The chicken was one of their specials. I couldn’t help it. It’s got a bourbon sauce on it that Aiden made with Mason’s bourbon that he is working on.”

“Well, how about we split them both. Then we can try the sauce.”

“You are thinking just like me, but I’m glad you suggested it. Not everyone likes doing that with food. They both came with fries so I had them dump both orders in one container for us to help ourselves.”

“What’s the fourth container?” he asked, opening it. “Damn. Liam made macarons.”

“They were on the menu for a special this week too so I got an order to go.”

“This is the perfect dinner,” he said. He went to the kitchen where she was pulling plates down and took them out of her hand while she got the rest of the silverware. “Thank you for this.”

“I’m glad we could do it,” she said. “I wanted to see you. I hoped you’d be willing to stay for a bit after dinner too.”

It was the way she dipped her head down and blushed that made all the blood rush to his cock.

He didn’t want to read more into it, but said, “I’ll stay as long as you want me to.”

Taking A Risk

Kendra was taking a risk tonight, but she was tired of always sitting back and waiting.

She’d listened to her mother.

She’d talked to Ivan about her past.

There was that girl in her that wanted to have fun. That enjoyed colors and laughing and having a good time.

She was in a place in her life where she could let go a little.

She was with a man that made her feel comfortable doing that too.

Nothing more she could ask for and she was going to take advantage of it.

In her mind though, she wanted her first time here in the comfort of her home and bed.

She wasn’t sure why she did, but she didn’t think Ivan would care all that much.
