HANNA

The bridal suite is beautifully decorated and filled with my closest friends. The day has been a blur of makeup and plugging in curling irons.

Blakely made it here with a newborn in tow. Thankfully her dress material was made to fit her no matter what. Sage green to match Karly and Lexie's. They've all twisted their hair into low buns, whereas mine is down.

Karly shows me pictures of the ceremony area, making sure it's up to standard. It's pretty but not at all like I pictured. We didn't hire a wedding planner, but Blakely got us a fantastic photographer since I need her in the actual pictures.

It should be the perfect day.

Karly sits next to me, but I can't take my eyes off the mirror. I don't want her to read what's behind them.

"Are you okay? You've been quiet today."

"Yeah. I'm okay, just a little nervous."

"Okay," she sighs, "It's normal to be nervous. You are doing the right thing. It's just a little bit of cold feet."

"I know."

"Lexie is going to check on the guys, Blakely is going to lay the baby down for a bit, and I'm going to take Ellie to get lunch. We will be back, though."

"Okay," I smile. A minute alone wouldn't be so bad, actually.

Everyone leaves, and I still stare into this mirror. A million thoughts racing through my mind.

Is this the right choice?

Do I look okay?

I wish my dad was here.

My mom walks into the room, closing the door behind her. Placing a bouquet of flowers on the table.

Magnolias.

"I met the delivery guy in the hall. Aren't these just lovely?"

She smiles, pulling the card off, handing it to me.

"Who are these from?" I ask. Her brow knitting together in confusion.

"What do you mean? Who else would send you flowers on your wedding day?" She lets out a quick bark of laughter.

"No one," I agree. Pulling the small card from the envelope.

Hoping you get your dance under the stars.

A small gasp escapes, my entire body going rigid.

These aren't from Eric.

My voice is shaky and timid, "Mom, can I ask you a question?"

She smiles, crossing her legs in the chair opposite me. "Sure."

I take a deep breath, "How did you know you wanted to marry dad?"

Her eyes go wide, and I stop her thoughts before she says something to piss me off, "Just answer the question, mom, don't tell me how perfect Eric and I are. I already know."
