"Okay, my second favorite," he amends, sending butterflies into my core.

"I love you," he whispers, "Maybe a little too much."

I turn on my side, glaring at him, his eyes locked on the sky, "Never treat that as a problem."

"Am I always going to be like this?" He asks, but I can tell he isn't really asking me directly. It's more like he's asking himself, or maybe even the sky.

He remains silent, but I decide to ask him something that's been on my mind for a while, "Do you still want to marry me?"

He shuffles quickly to his elbows, lifting himself off the blanket.

"You want to marry me now?" He questions, a cocky grin covering his smug face, "I knew you would be crazy over my dick, but I didn't think it'd make you wanna marry me."

I smack him, "that is sonot it. I just want to know if you meant it that day at the airport."

"I meant it. I still do."

I smile, forgetting for a split second about everything that's happened. I know that tomorrow things will be different, and everything that has managed to rip us apart will still be there, still trying to push us to opposite ends of this earth, but it feels good to forget.

At least for one night.
